This hotel was pretty low budget. Drain was clogged. No towels when we first got there. Pool wasn't heated and the water was cloudy. Old TV, with very limited channels.

Not the worst motel we've ever visited...

Posted Jul 18, 2014
Pros: The exterior appearance is quite lovely, and the AC worked just fine. The room rate is very affordable given the upscale surroundings.
Cons: See notes about our experience above.
Location: Walking distance to charming downtown and ferry terminal.
...but definitely there's room for improvement. Lighting in our room was so dim that it was almost impossible to read. The hair dryer (which I needed on that visit) was missing from its switch-plate on the wall. When I called the front desk to find out if I could have another one, the person in charge simply said that it wasn't working and offered no substitute. The alarm clock, which we did not touch, LOUDLY buzzed us awake at midnight. Due to the dim lighting which made it impossible to read the clock's instructions, my husband finally had to pull its cord from the wall. The complimentary breakfast was meager by today's motel standards, and there was only seating for 8 (at two tables). When I tried to re-heat my coffee in the micro-wave oven, it and a toaster nearby both lost power (a wiring problem perhaps)?

Pool was green and brown, hot tube empty. Ac was loud and Breakfast was old bread, juice and bad coffee. Would not call that a room with pool and free breakfast. Only choice left on the island, book ahead at the best western don't stay here!

Doubt I Will Return

This hotel is minimalist at best. This is my fourth stay at a hotel on Bainbridge Island, previous times had been at Best Western. Let it suffice to say that I will not be coming back to Island Country Inn.

Pros: Comfort and cleanliness of the room; location; price.
Location: Good location, not far from the town center. The only negative: some traffic noise in the morning, from commuter traffic on a nearby road.
Clean, well-maintained, comfortable, spacious room. Breakfast is included, but we didn't take advantage of this (because we routinely met with relatives for breakfast out).

Pros: It is reasonable, price wise, compared to the hotels and other inns on Bainbridge Island. Compare to what accomodation prices are in Seattle, deal.
Cons: Modernize the wall paper, carpet, and furnishings. Small refrigerator and microwave for travelers with ice chests.
Location: The library is close by. The fast food places, like Subway and MacDonalds plus Bistro and Pizzaria in this shopping center. Grocery, drug store, etc.
More like a motel, location to resteraunts within walking distance, good. Decor is a little dated. A+ on cleansliness. No bed bugs. No refrigerator or microwave in room. Coffee maker in room. The free continntal breakfast off the lobby is good and more than just coffee and sweet rolls. Make your own waffle, fruit, cereal etc... Wake up call on time, service all accomodating. Convenient access and parking. Good night's sleep for the most part. Once, I woke up to noise next door, but just breifly. Pretty quiet overall.

Nice if you just need a place to sleep.

This place was okay. The room felt a little bit like grandma's apartment and there was no HBO (as mentioned on hotels.com). The tv was actually kind of weird and difficult to use. But anyway, the location is pretty good. Very close to the ferry and close to a RiteAid and Safeway and several gas stations. It's also pretty close to the downtown shopping area (just a short 5 min drive.) This hotel is decent as long as you just need a place to store your things and sleep. I wouldn't recommend it for a romantic evening though.
