Well, they tried...

Posted Jul 29, 2014
Pros: Nice staff. Tried to help within their limitations.
Cons: Maintenance issues abounding. Non-working refrigerator with mold in the room.
Location: Baskin Robbins
My wife, daughter and I stayed here on a return trip from Charleston, SC. We had changed our hotel to this one so our daughter could enjoy more of the TN landscape. Being from Illinois, we don't get to see mountains ever, so this was a treat. The check in went alright and the desk staff was quite friendly and helpful. We went to the 2nd floor room and the key card would not work. The light didn't even light up. Went back to the desk, and she quickly offered another room. Before giving us this room, she realized it too, had a lock issue. Finally she offered to put us in to "one of the really nice rooms" on the first floor which I agreed to. The only catch...this room had a lock issue as well, and when we needed back in, we'd have to go to the front desk to have them unlock the door, which they did without issue. The washer and dryer were out of service, and you could tell in the room that they had attempted to upgrade this room. It was a double king bed vs . the double queen which I had booked. There were laminate floors installed which was a nice touch, but the workmanship was shoddy at best. When walking on the floor, you could feel the planks give and separate a bit in certain spots. Check out went smoothly. I mentioned the myriad of issues I found with the room with the nice front desk lady (different from check in), from the tub draining poorly, to chunks of the drywall missing, to the non working and moldy refrigerator in the room.

Very convenient on the way to Myrtle Beach. Breakfast was delicious. Front desk employees were very friendly. Will definitely stop again. Wasn't the Hilton, but great for the price we paid.

Nice hotel with all the comforts of home.

Posted May 13, 2014
Pros: The amenities.
Cons: It could use a little updating and paint, but nothing drastic.
Location: It was as I said earlier, close to the interstate, Appalachian Museum and all the great food places.
We really enjoyed our stay. We even could have kept our dog with us. It was in the area we wanted and close to the interstate and restaurants.

Many complications

Posted May 12, 2014
Thought it was ridiculous that we could not check in at 2am just because of computer complications.

Cons: Hair dryers in room
Hair dryers in rooms would be very convenient for travelers, so they so not have to pack one and add to weight of luggage.

Look ELSEWHER

Posted Apr 15, 2014
Pros: There was nothing to like
Cons: SERVICE-SERVICE SERVICE
I reserved and paid for a non-smoking room one week in advance: and upon my arrival was unable to get any room. Seems the staff was in training and the manager overworked so this particular RED ROOF INN had no available clean rooms with working locks. They did however have plenty of excuses.

Affordable and clean motel near the expressway.

Posted Apr 15, 2014
Pros: Location and price.
Cons: Some updates. The day manager stated that it was recently bought and renovations were slowly being done.
Location: By the expressway for quick on and off.
An older motel but clean; stayed only 1 night while travelling further south. A weak breakfast menu but enough for us until we stopped for a larger lunch.
