The room and public baths are wonderful. The included breakfast buffet is crowded and the quality is just okay. The restaurant food is expensive and the quality and taste is just okay. Overall I really like the hotel and baths, but we ran into a big problem. They claimed they couldn’t feed us dinner, because they were booked up. They gave us a room service menu that began at 9:00 pm and offers soba and udon. I was pretty upset to pay $375 a night and no dinner. We checked back several times and nothing. That night was dark, windy, and pouring rain and there is nothing else nearby. We waited until 9:00 pm and called room service. They answered and said sorry room service isn’t available today. What!!?? We asked the front desk, absolutely nothing available. So, no dinner. I was very polite and explained we were not happy, but they just smiled and didn’t care. Very disappointing. So beware.

The top floor public bathroom is impressive. My twin room is very small but cozy. The shuttle to/from the train station is convenient.

Worth a stay
Great stay in Arima Grand Hotel! Room seems newly renovated. Onsen was not crowded and comfortable for hot bath in some privacy. Staff are very friendly and professional. Price is on the high side but worth a stay. Nice Breakfast buffet spread.

Excellent stay in Arima
Stayed at Grand Hotel with my sister. In-room dinner was themed with Hina Matsuri (Doll Festival) with cute Hina doll bowls and many spring-themed dishes and plates. We then dipped in the Gold and Silver springs on the top floor of the hotel. Enjoy hot/cold drinks and free massage on a massage machine there. The BEST part was in the morning when we went to take a bath in the morning at the top-floor bath house. We watched the sun coming out the mountain rim as we dipped in a hot bath. It was simply beautiful. Then at the breakfast buffet both of us, having different tastes, fully enjoyed favorite foods. I stayed in many places in Arima but by far this hotel has always been the best.

On 9th floor and B2 floor there are two big hot springs, and small hot springs for family. Opening 5:00-24:30. This hotel is biggest in Arima onsen. My knee injury are recovered for two days stay at this hot spring hotel.

Nice view, excellent hotel.
Room was big, nice & cozy. Service was excellent. Private onsen experience was fantastic. Price a bit steep but nevertheless will be back again.

The onsen is awesome , it is at the 9th floor and you can see the arima town . The dinner menu is great. There is shuttle bus every 15 min from station to hotel

This is our 2nd time in Arima Grand Hotel and we stay for two nights. We enjoy the Kobe beef and sea food dinner as well as the Onsen. The private bath Onsen is very good and clean.-:)

Service benefitting of its name
Grand was indeed the first word that come to mind when you reach the hotel lobby. From the bus terminal, we called the hotel and a shuttle bus came to pick us up shortly. When we arrived at the hotel, 5 staff were waiting out in the cold to welcome us. Without asking, the staff loaded our luggage and brought it up as we checked in. Following which, a staff brought the luggage up to our room which overlooked the pool and garden which was breathtaking. A lady then came to take note of allergies and served our kaiseki which exceeded my expectations. We then hit the awesome onsens (level 9 has a view better appreciated in the day, b2 more cosy with garden view). Going back our futons were ready and we had a great rest! Only let down was breakfast. It was downright horrible relative to the dinner we had and most of the buffet trays laid empty even at peal periods. Otherwise check out was just as smooth and you can deposit your luggage and tour the town before departing arima onsen. One of the highlights of any trip for sure!

We stayed in two different hotels in Arima. However, we would highly recommended this to all of you. The hotel's looks good, view is fantastic. Staff are very helpful with patient, facility ( onsen) are nice and big. Although the hotel location seems a bit far away from the shops, the shuttle bus is very frequent and this can eliminate this disadvantage. Would definitely come back for my next stay in Arima

The Japanese style room is more than I expected, breathtaking view, very clean and comfortable. The hotel has bus that pick up guest front he train station every 15 min, so please don’t take taxi like I did. Breakfast buffet is more like Japanese style but everything taste great. The front desk only understands basic English. You have to pay extra to get in the hotel’s hot spring, it’s not included in the room. They also provide in room message which is great. If you want in room dinner you need to reserve early, can’t order on the day you arrive. But the hotel also has many good restaurants. Overall very satisfied.

山の上にあるので、景色がすごく良かったです。 温泉街へは山の上の為、歩いて行くのは大変だと思います。 ご飯も美味しく、温泉も２か所あり最高でした。
