Everything We Wanted from an Onsen/RyokanPosted May 19, 2014 on Hotels.com
Doted on hand and foot. Remarkable in room kaiseki dining experiences (breakfasts so big lunch was always optional...). Great balance of traditional Japanese food and comfortable beef or sashimi dishes. Onsen itself was great. Common bathroom took some getting used to but nothing we didn't expect going in from reading reviews. Only minor issue was that slippers/clogs not exactly built for 6'4 folks but staff was incredibly accommodating. Everything we wanted it to be and the perfect break during a 2 week tour of Japan.

Pleasant experiencePosted Apr 16, 2014 on Hotels.com
The hotel is at a convenient location, has its own hot spring to shared between men and women. Both could face to face chat at the hot spring. Dinner and breakfast is special Japanese Kai Seki style let you feel you are special guests to the hotel. All staff provide excellent service and smiles are always in the faces. This is an unforgettable trip to Arima Hot Spring to myself.

lovely old onsenPosted Apr 12, 2014 on Hotels.com
Tocen Goshoboh delivers on nostalgic charm; it's rooms are spacious, the onsen is great and the service is impeccable. Be warned that if you don't book a room with meals included, it will be very difficult to eat at Tocen Goshoboh's restaurant and Arima's eating options are limited... We ate several meals from 7-11 out of desperation!

location is good in Orsen areaPosted Jan 20, 2014 on Hotels.com
Not up to top-tier chain hotel standard like inter-con, grand hyatt etc,. if the price is same as those group.
