Convenient location for Ferry Terminal

Posted Sep 19, 2014
Pros: Great customer service and convenient location.
Cons: The common areas need to be updated and deeply cleaned.
Location: Kodiak is a wonderful town! Dine at Monk's Rock nearby.
This hotel was conveniently located near the ferry terminal and the front desk arranged for and paid for a taxi to take us to the Ferry at about 2:30am because their own shuttle wasn't running during those hours. Based on the staff helpfulness I would definitely recommend the hotel especially for those who are either flying or taking a ferry. The hotel itself is a bit dated with the common areas in need of a deep cleaning. Rooms were clean and comfortable.

Good Location in Town

Facilities are good considering the location [Kodiak Island]. Never used gym or hot tub but those options are available on site or just across the street. The restaurant was above average based on the other cafes that we encountered elsewhere in town.

I would recommend Kodiak Best Western

Posted Sep 7, 2014
Pros: It was nice, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast was excellent.
Cons: It was dirty, smears and drips on the walls, floor was dirty, and generally looked like it could use a good wipe down and disinfecting.
Location: Kodiak is beautiful. Make time to go to the beaches.
I spent one night at this hotel and I would recommend it to another person. I was not really impressed with the other hotels in Kodiak.

Decent Hotel

Posted May 2, 2014
Pros: The room was nice, the bed was really comfy and the bathroom had a fan which is always a good thing.
Cons: Parking conditions - although there really isn't much they can do about the parking.
Location: It was close to dining and shopping in the main area of Kodiak. We enjoyed a wonderful restaurant called Henry's - very good food!
The hotel itself was pretty good - the parking was challenging. We ended up in a room on the 3rd floor which was great as long as you don't mind stairs, which we didn't. The stairs led directly to one of the small parking lots and we were fortunate to be able to park in that parking lot (there were only about 8 spaced). The hotel staff was just okay - they didn't go above and beyond but they were friendly enough.

Pleasant stay, however eat somewhere else...

Posted Dec 2, 2013
The facilities were clean and well appointed, especially for a place such as Kodiak with limited moderate to high end locations. The staff were helpful, friendly, although a bit over relaxed. The bar was pleasant. Unfortunately the Chart Room restaurant left quite a bit to be desired in terms of promptness of service and quality of fare. The food is regularly overcooked and drowned in heavy sauces that are primarily based in seasoned mayo.

fishing trip in Alaska

Posted Jun 9, 2013
Pros: The breakfast they provided was very tasty.
Cons: A new roof was being put on starting at 7:00 a.m. on the morning we were there. Tooo early!
Location: There was easy access to downtown Kodiak. We enjoyed walking around the town.
This is an older hotel that could use some up-dating. It was in good condition for it's age. However, it needs some TLC.

Will stay there again and again!

Posted Mar 23, 2013
Pros: The staff! They were so friendly.
Cons: The distance from the lobby to my room
Location: The Inn is right in the middle of downtown and you can walk to pretty much everything.
The Kodiak Inn isn't new or anything, so the hall carpeting is a bit warm and the halls wander. But that's part of its charm. The staff are very nice and everyone tries to make your stay the best one you ever had, anywhere.

Limited choices

Posted Feb 14, 2013
Pros: Harbor view
Cons: Unkept ness of the property
Location: Kodiak is a beautiful island to visit.
There are limited hotel options so there is no incentative for major improvement. I'd recommend a B&B, or vacation home.
