A perfect stay in a perfect location in Koh SamuiPosted Nov 23, 2013
Pros: Everything but the staff were just amazing !
Cons: Nothing I could suggest to improve this place !
Location: Great location just off main strip road. Go to the Thai boxing in the resort, absolutely brilliant and a trip to Fisherman's village in Bo Phut a must
We loved the Banana Fan Resort .... the food, the location, the room and more importantly all the staff ! We would highly recommend the Banana Fan Resort as a place to stay in Koh Samui - this trip was for our honeymoon and was just amazing ! We have to say Thailand and Koh Samui will stay in our memories always, the Thai people are definitely the nicest people we have ever met. Will return without a doubt - you will not regret booking to stay here - the best time ever !

Nice spotPosted Nov 8, 2013
The hotel is perfectly located by the beachbut far enough away from the party spots that you can have a very relaxing time here, then wander down the strip for drinks when you feel like it. The staff here are all great and we returned to our room one day to find teddies we'd bough for presents arraged on the bed with a towel monkey wearing sunglasses. It gave us a great laugh.

the wonderful banana fan sea resortPosted Oct 13, 2013
Cons: nothing all was lovely about this resort
Location: beautiful beach with water activities. Restaurant was great and others near by were also good. close to walking street market.
attentive friendly staff in all areas of the resort. amazing breakfasts ( best in Koh Samui) with the best omelette station that made the most delicious omelettes. the facilities and rooms were spotless and well presented. the scented burners in the bathroom were a lovely touch. the cool drink and cold towels that were given to us on our arrival was such a lovely thing. our first steps into the resort we felt welcomed and special. the pool was amazing and very relaxing overlooking the sea. the massages were awesome and the beach chairs and umbrellas are clean and comfortable and the staff members overseeing this area were very helpful. we really enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back another time.

Great location - great beach!Posted Sep 10, 2013
Pros: We loved the individual bungalows. The beach at the front of Banana Fan is the best.
Cons: The bathrooms were a bit old but we were really only in our room for sleeping and showering so it didn't bother us.
Location: Banana Fan is located close to the Chewang Walking Night Market. The Night Market has great food stalls.
We had a great time at Banana Fan. We were travelling with our 4 year old son and the staff were all very friendly and knew him by name by the 2nd day. The housekeeping staff were brilliant. Our son was having a sleep in the afternoon for the first 2 days when they were due to clean our rooms. On the 3rd day of our stay, we noticed that they had started cleaning our room first in the morning so as not to disrupt our routine - we hadn't asked for this but it was lovely that they used their initiative and didn't disrupt our afternoon sleep.

"one of the best choices" you can have in samuiPosted Aug 28, 2013
Pros: the beach in front of the hotel the restaurant with sea view
Cons: the breakfast and its area was giving the feeling" that all was not so clean , noone was caring of the food "falling down and out" of its position.
Location: the hotel is in a good position on the chaweng road. remeber that samui and all the areas around smell VERY BAD so is better to dont go out too much
if you want the better place considering the position with the beach this is best choice with sandy beach and clear water. other places can be more luxury and/or renevated but with ugly sea and not nice sand we readed many comments on the web about that the hotel is old. maybe we had a good room but anyway all the structure was looking ok (gardens, pool, lobby) the pool, beach, restaurant area are very pleasant and make a big difference to your stay the food at the restaurant (and is place) is good the "non good" : about the breakfast , consider that the fruits bought outside from the man on the beach had much much more taste then the fruits you can get in the breakfast (peanapple, young cocco , etc) and that is very strange! and the area/food seemt not so clean. generally the staff is helpful and friendly but part of them working at breakfast , maybe tired of their job, didnt let feel us much comfortable

Amazing service! Excellent location!Posted Aug 9, 2013
Pros: Service, Location, Staff
Location: Excellent location! Located on the beach, near shops and your local express Tesco Supernarket
We spent 2 weeks here withour 2 year old son and did not regret it for a second. We opted for the smaller room and although it was cosy and suited us just fine. The hotel is located on the beach and only a few mins to the start of the Chewang shopping strip. Although for 50 baht each in a tuk tuk, it was much easier to catch transport. Our little cabin is set amongst beautiful gardens. But besides the location, what sets this hotel apart is the amazing service from staff. I have not even receievd such service in top 5* accomodation. Staff were quick to respond to any queries and by the end of our stay, we felt like they were family. Each and everyone of the staff would greet us and our son with so much joy. We asked to see if they had a mosquito net we could place over the cot. And although they said no, another staff member who was listening came up and told us not to worry, he would go out and buy one. The next day we had a beautiful net hanging over the cot and they had placed a hole in the ceiling for the hook. I had also injured my foot and was required t go the hospital everyday of my stay. The hotel provided me with crutches and free transport to and from the hospital. The staff make this place and we would stay here again. Thank you to Mas and Supit to name a couple, for an amazing stay.

AWESOME PLACE TO STAY IN KOH SAMUI !Posted Jul 19, 2013
Pros: Best part of BFR was staff, location, poolside, restaurant and beach.
Cons: Hard bed but this was fixed with a bed topper.
Location: Step right out into the hub of Chaweng Beach. Restaurants, bars, shops right there.
My family and I have just come back from our stay at BFR. In all honesty I cant fault the resort and the staff. They were fantastic. Attentive at all times and happy to help with any questions or possible problems. Everything was great. The only complaint, if I can call it that, was the bed was VERY hard. I can tolerate hard beds but this was the hardest but luckily the situation was solved with a bed topper, so no more hard bed. The breakfast was great, poolside facilities great, always got lounges by the pool for a party of 6 and rooms cleaned daily. Location was great, just walked out to restuarants, bars, shops and transport. Beach was clean and just at our footsteps as well. Found the massage tables the last morning which was a shame but got 1 massage in on the beach. BTW its just under the pool area accessed from the steps of the restaurant down onto the beach. 300baht for a full body massage - WONDERFUL. Overall we will be happy to return any day and thoroughly recommend - great for families.

Location and RelaxationPosted Jul 12, 2013
Pros: Staff, Location
Cons: Beds a little hard
Location: Middle of Chaweng beach - absolute beachfront
This resort provides excellent value in prime location. Very friendly, helpful staff and the facilities provide a high level of comfort. We arrived early (well before check in) and checked out late and we were well looked after in our 10 day stay. The breakfast was excellent and the quality of the food at the restaurant was very high but reasonably priced. The rooms were spacious and well serviced each day. The staff enjoyed our attempts at learning to speak a little bit of thai.
