OK but nothing great

Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: Nice pool
Cons: Service
Location: Not a lot
The resort was just OK, the beach was not one of the best on the island and there were signs all over the room advising how much you would be charged if you damaged an item. The staff were not helpful and spoke very little English, it took us a while to realize that when they were smiling and saying ok they had no idea what we were saying and we would not be getting what we asked for!

Peaceful paradise away from the bustle and crowds

Pros: The grounds and gardens are immaculate and amazing to walk around. Friendly staff and great food. The views... have to mention the views again :-)
Cons: Happy hour can occasionally turn into 'unhappy' hour as the bar staff can be a little slow. Not much of an issue on a leisurely holiday.
Location: Free trips by bus into Chaweng are available if you want some action. This place is for relaxation and perfect to get away from it all.
Have stayed at this hotel twice over the past 2 years and can definitely recommend. It is quiet and the perfect place to get away from it all. Stunning views over Maenam beach and cannot fault the staff or location. On my birthday I even received a surprise birthday cake which was most unexpected.

Beautiful location, private beach front, lovely!

Pros: The jetted pool massage beds - the free use of bikes & canoes. The fitness centre views, the orange bean bag chairs on the beach to watch the sunset
Cons: More comfortable beds, a treadmill in the gym, better staff communication and help.
Location: It's a shuttle bus or taxi ride to anything. Good news though, its that most booked tours pick you up at the hotel.
This was a lovely hotel, but a bit too secluded and far away from Chaweng Beach for us. If you're after privacy and being away from things then this place has that. Things I liked about the hotel were the jetted pool beds (like a water massage - heavenly!) and the private beach with amazing sunset views. I also loved the free use of bikes and canoes. We were able to use the bikes to ride up the road to the nearest convince store to get water and snacks no problem, and we took the canoes out for a great day on the water. They also had complementary sunscreen and bug spray, which I thought was nice. I definitely can't fault the restaurant, pool, or pool bar. All the food, especially the breakfast buffet, was amazing. There were two free shuttles into Chaweng per day, but at all the other times the shuttle did cost money; and one time we missed the Shuttle back even (though we were there), & had to take a Taxi back - so maybe not the most reliable method of transportation. The beds were also not the most comfortable, but the bathroom and shower were fantastic. I especially liked the lemongrass soap... sometimes it's the little things that impress me most LOL. All in all a great place. Oh, and the views from the fitness centre at the top of the hill were unbelievable... & that got us to the gym everyday! If only there had been a treadmill, it would have been perfect.

Beachfront Paradise

Pros: Very professionally run, quiet area away from the town with it's own beach. Excellent food. Very friendly staff. Complimentary shuttle into town. WiFi
Cons: Honestly can't think of anything. Not sure what the other rooms are like.
Location: About 5 minute drive from nearest town. Fisherman's village (10 minutes) is a must on a Friday night with a large street market.
We had just spent a busy 3 days sightseeing in Singapore before arriving and needed a bit of relaxation. We couldn't have wished for anything more. We shared a minibus from the airport which took us to the hotel. The staff were so welcoming and couldn't do enough for you even down to lending us a pair of their own flip flops. We had booked a beachfront villa which was away from the main pool area, spacious and very quiet. It was only a 2 min walk from the pool and restaurant. The food in the restaurant was excellent and included some themed menus with live music 2 or 3 nights a week. We also enjoyed a romantic beach meal with our own personal waitress for the evening. Breakfast was very cosmopolitan and varied with a chef on hand to make you fresh eggs any way you wanted. The beachfront villa has its own private plunge pool and a decked area to sit on away from the beach if you want to watch the sun setting. Happy hour twice every day with the bar staff coming to the villas to take your cocktail/drink orders. Complimentary shuttle to Chaweng beach 4 times a day if you wanted a bit more hustle and bustle. We went on an organised day trip that we booked at reception, to Ko Tao by motor boat which was great for snorkelling. There is free WiFi at the hotel and a computer station if needed. There are many different trips boat available which are all very professionally run by a boating company. We would definitely return back here, we were made to feel so welcome by everyone.

Pros: Everything, staff, location, style, quietness, overall quality
Cons: Anti mosquitoes "things" of any kind are needed cos the place is just invaded from a certain hour
Location: Close to the town but beware of the cabs' rates which are outrageously high as its decided beforehand(same principle applies for all hotels basically)
This hotel was the very best of all I have been in Samui so far. The Siam style is amazingly fine and taken care of, the location is great, very quiet, not too far from the town, great food, the sea is just flip flop distance from the rooms, bar in the pool, botanic garden, rooms are very well equipped and the bathroom is just luxury

Lovely hotel away from the hustle and bustle

Posted May 1, 2014
Pros: Everything!
Location: Fishermans village is not too far away and Chaweng is a 20 min shuttle bus drive away. Its very close to the Pier from Koh Tao and Koh Pangyang
I wish we had stayed here longer! When we arrived the hotel staff were amazing - remembered our room number and names and were very polite and helpful. We were very lucky and got a free upgarde to a beautiful suite with a jacuzzi bath on the balcony! The hotel offers a shuttle service to the busier parts of Koh Samui for free which was fantastic as the hotel is a little isolated. The facilities are great and the food is divine (although a little more expensive then many other places). We will definitely return in the future.

Pros: Great hospitality . Clean . Beautiful .
Cons: Prices of menu are higher by any hotel standers
Location: Location was the only " issue" as we needed to take tuk tuks constantly
Love it . Loved the help and the hospitality of the crew . Got there as the first destination in our Thailand trip and we just enjoyed it .

A pleasant surprise in a good location....

Pros: Good location and great value.
Cons: Maybe a free shuttle into Mae Nam and Bo Phut in an evening would help .
Location: As above with plenty to do and see.
We had toured for three weeks prior to staying at the Fair House and were pleasantly surprised at what we found.A well run ,clean and quiet hotel well located between Mea Nam and Bo Phut .We walked to both in about half an hour.We thought that it offered good value and would have no problems staying again in the future..

Peaceful resort on beach

Posted Feb 3, 2014
Was a great place to stay for a relaxing few days, quiet and removed from the more hectic areas around Chaweng. Best for couples or families who want a more romantic or quieter place to stay. Staff very helpful just have to watch the taxis overcharging to get back. Food was fantastic
