Beautiful private bungalows on the beach

Posted Oct 26, 2014
Excellent bungalow style resort on Shark Bay, friendly staff, excellent food and drinks. They really try to look after you and make sure things go smoothly, from picking you up at the ferry, confirming flight info and printing boarding passes (no charge) and even 2 very friendly resident dogs.

on the beach

Posted Oct 6, 2014
Pros: room right on the beach
Cons: price of massage and food on the expensive side, expensively the massage, you get 10 massages in Bangkok for the price of one here
Location: right on the beach and good for snorkeling, i didnt leave the resort as all i wanted to do was relax on the beach with no hum bug
private resort and lovely spot to just relax on the beach and go swimming, snorkling, just a little to expensive for the extras like foot massage, over 1700 Baht yet a five minute walk out the gates and down the road only 200Baht

Good island hotel

Posted Sep 28, 2014
Pros: Location, beach and friendly staff.
Cons: The welcome reception could be better; as the bar staff actually informed us about the facilities available.
Location: Ideal for relaxing. Probably more to do at Sairee Beach if that's important to you. Though it is a quick taxi or shutle ride away!
We enjoyed our stay and would go again. The shower ran cold on the first night. Staff quickly resolved this the following day. We found all staff extremely friendly and helpful. Perhaps one of the three bars / restaurants should stay open past 22:00 as the hotel restort is some distance from the town. The restaurant staff were superb as was one of the porting staff.

Ok stay, not the kindest staff

Posted Jul 16, 2014
Pros: Private beach
Cons: The food was terrible and the staff at the restaurant even worst which is unusual in Thailand
Location: Get a taxi boat and visit different places in the Island.
The hotel was good and had a great beach but this is a beach destination. When we got to the hotel the guys that carried our bags to the room were exceptional but the reception people was not the greatest. The we got to the restaurant and the staff at the restaurant were incredibly rude, food wasn't good which isn't very common, in Thailand you can find great food most of the times except sometimes, well this was one of the times... the pad thai had a burn out taste and the staff was way too rude... I wouldn't stay in this place again given there are a lot of hotels and great places to stay in the Island

Great holiday

Lovely relaxing atmosphere, clean, smart looking rooms, helpful staff with delicious happy hour drinks and food at the beach bar - a super place to unwind and do nothing (only downside was the bath like water temperature of the beach and quite a bit of seaweed at this time of year, something we encountered all over Koh Tao - none of the beaches looked like the pictures up close!)

Really relaxed hotel right on the beach.

Posted May 2, 2014
Pros: Great pool, relaxed atmosphere, great to snorkelling.
Cons: Our villa was very open so we didn't have much privacy. The food and breakfast buffet could have been better.
Location: Location was approx. 10-15mins away from the port and 15-20mins away from the main beach so if you want a private spot this is great.
All of the amenities are pretty basic but it is right on the beach, with a really nice pool. Very chilled atmosphere and great for relaxing. Everyone seemed late twenties to late thirties so all relatively the same age which was cool.

The perfect R&R

Great stay. Would be even better for couples. The place is a little isolated so if you are more into crowds, this is not for you.

Hotel with private beach

Posted Feb 9, 2014
Enjoyed our stay in the Haadtien. Lovely beach with pristine blue sea. The free transport to and from town was fun. There was a wide variety of options for breakfast and you had it in the sea view restuarant, heaven. We stayed in the sea view chalet which had an outdoor day bed you could lounge in to see in the warm evenings. We'll definetly return

Pretty and quiet...off the beaten path.

The on-line pictures of this place are VERY accurate. We were very pleased and enjoyed our stay. The entire place belongs on a postcard! The staff are very friendly and smiled a lot...loved them. The only con is that it's not in walking distance to town (which is why it's so nice and quiet...why I chose it), and the free shuttle into town is very limited as to when you can come and go. You can either get up early and catch the 8:30am shuttle or you have to wait until 2pm. (No sleeping in and going into town for lunch at noon.) First returning shuttle isn't until 7:15pm, so if you go to town early, you have to take a taxi back if you don't want to be gone all day. Otherwise, great!

The rooms are lovely with great views. Unfortunately there was a lot of construction noises, which were a bit annoying. The restaurant is pretty good and the beach is one of the best on Koh Tao.
