Poor customer service, ok resort

We love Accor, but this hotel and the service were sub-par to the usual Accor standard. Its a pity as the resort has a lot of potential.

Hotel feels like a tropical resort

Posted Mar 31, 2013
Pros: Swimming pools and location right on the beach.
Cons: The room didn't have much closet space.
Location: The location is on Bophut beach. There is not much nightlife in the area, except for Fishermans village which is a 20 minute walk from the hotel.
The hotel is a beautiful property located right on the beach at Bophut. The property feels like a resort because it is landscaped very well. The swimming pools and poolside bar were very nice with lots of trees and bushes to give a feeling of privacy.

Excellent value and quality for the money

Posted Mar 4, 2013
Pros: Comfortable beds, good 'family' rooms with sea views. Beachside location
Cons: Nothing serious to complain about. Maybe a bit isolated for those seeking some nightlife.
Location: Situated right on a pleasant beach, short transfer from the airport, restaurantrs within waliking distance (also Friday street market).
For the money, the Bophut Ibis provides everything you would want from a holiday hotel. The room was very comfortable - we had a Family room with a European standard king size bed with good matress/bedding and large bunk beds for the kids (NB these are wide but a bit short so not ideal for a 6ft teenager). Room enough, with an extra TV and PS2 thrown in. We had a sea view, as I think most of the Family rooms do. I would not be so happy with rooms on the West facing side as these had poor views and workshop activity noises. The Gardens are well kept and there are 4 very nice pools. These are small but no real problem with sitting space, etc. One is a 40cm deep paddling pool, the others are all 1.2m which is a bit too deep for smaller children but we got by with floatation aids. Position is right on the beach so you have that option. Nice clean sand, a little but coarse for long beach walks. Plenty of clean towels whenever you want one. Had a buffet breakfast one day which was absolutely fine. Plenty of other places to eat within a short walk, although you will suffer the usual poor Thai pavements if you have a buggy. We all had tummy troubles - probably not the hotel (they provide free bottled water by the way) so take what precautions you can and bring suitable medicines. I saw some grumbles on Trip Advisor about staff service but we saw no such problems - staff were all very friendly and helpfull. I would recommend this hotel and go back there again.

Great location

Pros: Beach
Cons: Staff communication
The hotel location was great with a lovely beach and pools. The buffet breakfast was enjoyable. The rooms were a little cramped but in very good condition. The staff did not communicate enough and provided very little information. There were a number of power outages in the hotel during our stay, one of them was a planned outage but this was not communicated to guests.

Not for me!

Posted Feb 25, 2013
Pros: It was clean
Cons: Tiny room
Location: Far end of Bophut beach near the point, quite a hike to Fishermans village.
Didn't like it. Plenty of modern facilities but the room was tiny and in room amenities wanting. Staff lacked basic manners like letting guests carrying hot food/drinks pass through doorways first. Really didn't enjoy shuffling sideways around the bed sideways. Won't be back.

No good if you want to sleep

Posted Feb 19, 2013
Pros: Beach location
Cons: Noise
Location: On the beach, but overcrowded, so get up and reserve your bed on the beach at about 5 AM
Definately a travelodge in disguise, noisy, crowded, basic. Most dissapointing are the pools, not nearly big enough for the hotel and seem to be used all night, which if you are unlucky enough to have a pool view, will mean NO SLEEP AT ALL.

Good hotel for family

Posted Jan 8, 2013 on Hotels.com
We were very satisfied with our stay. The hotel is right next to the beach and our room was at one end of the hotel, right next to the swimming pool. Even the restaurant was a minute's walk, which was very useful as they don't give room service and we needed to order food for the kids multiple times. It is quite a child friendly hotel, our room had bunk beds, Sony playstation and a box full of blocks. The only niggling factor was the extremely small size of the room

Small Rooms, Average Service.

Posted Jan 3, 2013 on Hotels.com
Rooms are Small, but well maintained. Reception staff are courteous and good. Restaurant staff are unhelpful, and find it difficult to communicate in English. We were told to "collect the food ourselves" when we tried to order room service. Free Wifi is very good and easy to setup and manage. The swimming pool is well setup with 3 different pools with reasonable privacy. The beach is close by, but is small and not very inviting. Travel Desk is helpful, but the car provided by the travel desk for hire, did not start after going into town. They refused to provide a refund for the faulty car as well.
