Felt like home, the reason we liked Koh Samui!

Posted Oct 29, 2013 on Hotels.com
We originally booked 3 nights here thinking we would leave ourselves some freedom to move on to another resort or other island with our next 2 nights. We ended up staying here for all 5 nights. The staff were very professional and friendly, we felt safe and relaxed throughout our stay. The location was a bit out of the way but this wasn't a problem as it was a short taxi ride when we did want to venture out. Would recommend to backpackers and holidayers alike.

Budget hotel on the beach

Posted Jun 15, 2013
Pros: Sun loungers where a nice feature
Cons: Tired, dusty room
Location: Walking distance to beach with the Grandmother / Grandfather rocks Then a 15 minute walk to Lamai strip
This part of my honeymoon I was looking forward to the most, the website looked amazing but upon arrival the room was dusty and didn't feel clean. The pool area was looking tired and did not match the high expectations I had from the website. We had a poor nights sleep due to noisy guests (not that this is the hotel's fault). Would not stay here again.

Great for a low budget hotel

Posted Apr 12, 2013
Pros: Pool was small but clean and the beach was paradise.
Cons: Reception finishes at 9pm and staff do not like to be rushed
Location: Fab location if you want to relax.
Got back Thailand 11/4/13, but disappointed with the staff. They only do the basic and do not want to go out of there way. At breakfast we were told to order larger glasses of juice as they did not want to keep coming back and forth also to save on washing. My son was sick due to some bad food, the cleaners refused to help with the cleaning but were happy to once money was offered. Food at the hotel is basic and so is the hotel itself. If you are looking for something wow then this is not the place for you. The beach was beautiful. I would come back to Thailand but would look to stop at another hotel. The safe deposit box did not work,so reception looked after our personal belongings without a charge. Very quiet compared to Cheweng which is more busier. You have definitely got to barter as everyone will try and rip you off. If they say they are a fixed price shop, they will soon barter.

Great location right on the beach!

Posted Jan 30, 2013
Pros: The location as its right on the beach and out of town so its quiet.
Cons: The pool was a bit small and not deep enough to dive in
Location: The resort is almost at the end of the beach near the Grandfather rock. Its just a 10-15 minute walk to the shops and bars along the beach or road
The resort is not 5 star but its good value for money and affordable for all budgets. We had the cheapest standard fan room which was basic but clean. The more expensive air con bungalows looked very nice. The location is spot on, only 10 minutes walk to the centre so its nice and quiet and its right on the beach. The pool is ok, a bit small and not very deep but you have the beach on your doorstep. The food in the poolside restaurant is quite nice and the staff are friendly. The reception offers motorbike hire for just 200baht per day. Overall a great place to stay for everyone. If you want a more luxurious place try the Rumana Resort next door which looked very nice!

terrific holiday00

Pros: Remco, the manager, and his staff bent over backwards to make my visit comfortable. I felt like I was being served by a 5 star hotel.
Cons: trying hard to think of something but ... oh yea the lounges by the pool are very low so hard to get in and out of with bad knees - beach ones great
Location: Lovely Lamai beach area which is quieter than Changmai. Close walking distance to fruit market, inexpensive restaurants, and short scooter to town.
I love the sea and beach so this is a terrific choice. The staff are wonderful - friendly and helpful. My room was clean though sparce (could have used a chair but didn't think to ask). I had a fan only in March and it was adequate. My deck had 2 chairs and a table so I could read there or head for the beach. The lounges are comfortable and the beach clean. The pool is nice but the steps are deep so difficult for an older person with bad knees to get in and out of. The food is terrific and reasonably priced. I hated to leave and will certainly go back (if there are any rooms left after you read this!). I highly recommend anyone looking for a lower budget comfortable stay to try Samui Beach Resort. It is not 5 star but you feel like it in the service. Enjoy!

great place

Location: a little far from town as compared to other hotels
The hotel is right on the beach with a pool, has a bar with a restaurant, and has internet. The owner is super. I'm a budget traveler because I came for a few months. I would recommend getting a room with A/C as the heat and humidity was almost unbearable for me. Wednesdays there is a beach BBQ. The rooms are small and basic so don't expect 5 star or luxury accommodations, but what you get for the price makes it outstanding. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and recommend it to others.
