I love Samui Sense. My third stay there. Very peaceful and close to everything. The manager Nina is a really lovely woman. The one downside is play awful music at the beach bar but they will turn out down if asked.

We had a relaxing 10 days on Koh Samui and are very happy we chose Samui Sense Beach Resort. We had a Villa very close to the pool and the room was clean and suited our needs beautifully. The only negatives were the bathroom was a bit outdated and the tv had no reception, but we weren't there to watch tv! The location was great, right on the beach on one side and a short 5 minute walk to central Lamai with all its awesome food, drink and shopping options on the other side. On returning the walk through the garden to get to our room was peaceful and gave us an immediate feeling of calm and a relaxed separation from the hustle and bustle of Lamai's main street which was just a few metres away. The staff were very friendly, responded immediately to any queries or requests we made and went out of their way to ensure we had a great stay.

A little on the older side but very nice. Right on the beach. The rooms were clean the breakfast so so and the staff was very accomadating

I just stayed two nights before moving to another hotel. On check out, there was a charge for 2 bottles of mineral water. I don't drink mineral water. Never have, never will. My fault. Didn't check the list ref fridge content on arrival. Pay the bill. Just a warning to others. "Check Everything".

Nice little resort right on beach.
A good quiet place to stay but walk out of hotel entrance straight into centre of Lamai, the best of both worlds. The staff in the hotel are great, really friendly and happy to chat. It’s on a nice stretch of beach which is clean, never a problem getting a lounger. I’ll say it again the staff are great, so helpful and welcoming. Beds could be a bit more comfortable is only minus thing I have to say.

Would go back!
The most amazing service and friendly staff. The hotel could do with a little updating, but the surrounding area is really picturesque. We had a BBQ evening there which unfortunately was hastily moved indoors because of rain, but they did it very well and the evening turned out great. The hotel is close to all restaurants and shopping in Lamai and right on the beach with fantastic service on the beach.

Great location
The superior rooms do not have a balcony and quite a small window, hence the rooms are very dark. There was a bit of dust and long hairs on the floor when we arrived. The bed was comfortable and the shower was good. The location, right on the beach, was wonderful. The pool was cool and uncrowded. The gardens and space around the resort were lovely. Breakfast which we had included was good, with enough variety. At the right price we would stay here again.

Not the best place to stay
Staff friendly & helpful though one of the night staff forgot to ring me with alarm call & it was a mad rush as a result Nina & Oaa were efficient & welcoming. Sumai Sense desperately needs a major refurbishment as it's shabby & dull. I paid too much for limited comfort.& facilities. The A/C unit was noisy necessitating wearing ear plugs! The area on the beach was unclean with plastics & other debris.

This was in a really good location for what we needed close to everything, good food and cheap eats just up the road in both directions - the beach just a short stroll from your room and pool , the staff were amazing Especially Nina on the front desk, the room itself could have been a bit cleaner - the Aircon was super dusty,

Great location in Lamai, but needs some work.
I stayed in a pool side villa. The room was just OK. Walls were dirty, tiles cracked, mildew in places. Probably all expected for the area, but could use some attention in terms of updating. With that said, the hotel staff was really nice and accommodating. Don't waste your time at this hotel bar/restaurant except the free breakfast. Compared to the city, the prices are dramatically higher than other resorts and restaurants in the surrounding area. All staff were great and I couldn't be more appreciative of the smiles and hellos I received on a daily basis.

This hotel is absolutely brilliantly placed at Lamai Beach. Meals are in the open restaurant on the beach, while you watch over the ocean. Friendly helpful staff, THAT GO OUT OF THEIR WAY to assist. House keeping is done daily, and rooms are kept clean, and all daily used linen replaced. Breakfasts are basic buffet, but adequate. All other meals and tastes are catered for. Lush hotel grounds are kept very tidy, and hotel beach and pool facilities are excellent. The only drawback was, there are no lifts to the upper 2 floors, but why stay in your room, during the day ? Our room did not have hot water for the hand basin, but hot shower was excellent. Bed was a little firm, but a hotel topper pad was placed on it, by the hotel on request, and solved the problem. Hotel location is quiet and all else within close walking distance. Flies and mosquitoes, can be a problem, ANYWHERE, on Koh Samui, so insect repellant is a MUST. Over our 21 day stay, we saw many other hotels, but this is by far the best, with all things considered. It TRUELY DESERVES, a 5 PLUS rating. Any OFF SEASON rates, also, made this hotel, exceptional value for money, and WE DO NOT HESITATE TO RECOMMEND IT TO OTHERS, and--WE WILL DEFINATELY--STAY AGAIN. ( YOU ALSO, wont be disappointed ).

It was a nice simple hotel, great location in the centre of Samui beach. Beach wasnt crowded. Nice breakfast for Samui - restaurant on the beach. Great cocktails, but a bit expensive for this place. Territory needs a bit of finishing. Take a villa or suite.

We had a great stay in Samui Sense Beach Resort. The staff is really friendly. The room is beautiful and very clean. We had everyday new flowers on our bed. The poolarea is great. Breakfirst is very good and you have a great view over the ocean from the breakfirst-area. Also the local area is good.

we had a great time at the samui sense our room was located on the secound flour we had a small balcony with a view on the jungle the bed was enormous and very confy the only downfall was the breakfast extremely poor the food from the restaurant was really good and the staff really nice the hotel is located at the end of the busy lamai strip it is surrounde by shops you can get anything you want

Beach Break
We had 6 nights in a pool side villa. A few steps out the door and under a big shady tree on a sun bed for most of the day. Pool was well looked after. Then only a few more steps down to the restaurant and the beach, where there were more sun beds. The gardens of the hotel were well looked after. We were very satisfied with our room. Bed was huge, fridge kept the drinks cold, the shower worked fine. Great location. Would definitely stay again.

A piece of paradise
This resort is an oasis in a paradise. I have stayed in many resorts here. Non come close to Sense Resort. This facility and this service at this price is just an steal. With the gardens, the pool, and restaurant, and the beach front, it's the culmination of man made and natural beauty co-existance and collaboration. I loved it.

Worst value for money
Worst value for money of anywhere I have stayed on Thailand and I've been coming here for ten years and travelling this time for six months. Staff were rude and unaccomadating. Hotel is charging twice what it's worth in comparison to other places. Pool was really dirty when we arrived (although it did get cleaned) everything is tired, sheets got changed regularly but clean ones were stained every time. White towels are grey and often had srains. Our toilet seat was broken on two places one crack through the sitting part very unhygienic and it pinched your leg. Restaurant manager sat every morning in the breakfast serving room smoking which was gross and that's all he did, restaurant staff were pretty sour, told us we couldn't sit at the table for three, we were three people but apparently even though it was set up for three we would block the way if we sat there ( there were two other people in the restaurant at the time) I took a cushion off the couch as the seats are very low and was growled at for doing this. We got told we couldn't sit in the beach loungers that were on the beach because we had been for a swim, even though it was wet from the person before us. All in all they have no people skills. My review for somewhere becomes would I stay there again and this one is a definite No.

My sister & I had requested rooms beside each other - not done until a nite after she arrived they agreed to do it, the first morning at breakfast we sat down at a table for 3 overlooking the beach, we were told 3 can't sit there and told to move to a table of 4, they then removed the 3rd chair & made it a table for 2 - we were the only ones in there, then we moved a cushion from one of the beach chairs and again were told not too - again we were the only ones there, rooms were dusty with dirty curtains, the only staff members that were consistently friendly was the driver of the airport transfer & our room cleaner - dissapointing as it was my 4th visit to Koh Samui & had always remembered it as the land of smiles😔

the resort is located on a clean beach which is great for swimming etc,shops and restaurants are within easy reach just outside the front entrance with plenty of night activity.our room was a bit dark with only a very small window,the air conditioner and the fridge were very noisey and the bed very hard and uncomfortable.the thing that spoils this resort the most is the breakfast staff who appear to be disinterested and quite rude which is very unusual in thailand.the breakfast itself is very ordinary.the front lobby staff were very welcoming though

What a disappointment
From the moment we arrived...There was no record of our booking and fortunately I had a copy of our reservation on hand. Then we were given a room that I believe was not a Junior Suite as booked. The bed was a mattress on the floor that you virtually had to roll out of each morning. There was a pillow case on one pillow only and hairs in the bedding. The bath towels were hard and looked as though they were washed in dirty water. The coffee cups in the room were disgraceful.One was cracked and both badly stained There was also water in the jug that had been there for goodness how long. The furniture and shelving throughout was extremely dusty and remained that way for our 6 night duration. There was a musky smell throughout. The breakfast was very average. The grounds and gardens could do with a good spruce up. We are not snobs by any means but believe that if you pay for a 4 star plus property, that is what you should get. I have stayed in Koh Samui on eight occasions at a different hotel each time except for one and this would have to be the worse. Asked that the television be looked at and tuned on numerous times to no avail. The list goes on.....
