Beautiful location and spacious rooms

Posted Jun 22, 2014
Location: Although the Kala is not in one of the main towns, it was really cheap and easy to hire a scooter and enjoy exploring the island ourselves.
A beautiful and peaceful place to stay on Samui, staff are friendly, we looked forward to breakfast each day and the view from our room - each room has a balcony with an ocean view!

1 of the finest hotels

Kala- The Location is So beautiful. As you enter the hotel you are stunned with the awesome view of the Ocean. Very friendly staff... simplified check in process without any delays. Rooms have a breath taking view of the Beaches. Very close to Chaweng Beach where all the buzz is...yet far from the huzz buzz and crowded streets of Chaweng. Chaweng Beach is approx 10mins by Taxi from Kala. The swimming pool...Infinity pool is another bliss...which again gives an amazing sense of bliss on your holiday. .. I would say for people who want to have a mix of relaxation and yet be very close to the Chaweng Beach this is the place to be. Of course to mention it's Spa which offers a range of different massage and therapy... Just out of the world.... Highly Recommended...!!

Nice hotel by the beach

Posted Apr 14, 2014
Pros: The service
Cons: As promised they should have given us the photos.
Location: Need to cab to go nearby places.
They took some photos of ours during our snorkeling trip. However, although they told us that they would give us the CD they never did give us anything. I am also yet to write to them to tell them not to use my friend's and my photos for their purpose.

Very beautiful hotel with best breakfast ever

Posted Apr 10, 2014
Hotel is very beautiful and nice. Rooms are large and very well designed. Staff is excellent. Key feature is breakfast! In terms of quality, quantity and time flexibility: it can easily become a high standard lunch. Needs improving access to sea/beach and related facilities as swimming pool is small.

Total relaxation in a well landscaped paradise

Posted Mar 27, 2014 on Hotels.com
I was in Bangkok for work and wanted a few days of full decompression. The Kala was the perfect choice. The location is beautiful, with sweeping views of the Gulf and a lush garden landscaped through the cliffs. There is a beautiful deck to lay in the sun, with the sound of waves crashing on the rocks below you. There were no loud guests; everyone seemed to be there to relax, which meant it was truly peaceful. The food is also good. The included breakfast is outstanding -- pancakes, banana muffins, eggs, Chinese sausage, jasmine rice, pineapple juice, coffee… the list goes on. Free use of kayaks were nice for an excursion. It is walking distance to The Cliff - voted one of the best restaurants on the island. It is an easy taxi into Chaweng or Lamai when you want to go to town, but when you've had enough of the crowds, escape back to the quietness of The Kala. Great value for money!

Very classy, boutique hotel

The hotel had breathtaking views from every room and from the common areas. The service was excelent: great food, very friendly staff and very knowledgeable concierge to help plan for trips and transportation. Overall, an incredible experience for a relatively inexpensive rate.

Missing the finishing touches

This is a great hotel let down by its poor finishings. Poorly painted, dirty windows etc. Expect more for 350+ a night in samui.
