Poor Service and Low quality rooms

Posted Jan 8, 2014
I booked a premium suite here. Everything in the room was broken (e.g. shower door) and it wasn't even very clean. The service was poor. Hotel staff had no idea what was going on at all and were not attentive. They charged me for breakfast even though it was included in my stay. Additionally when I asked for a receipt they had no document readily available and didn't know what to include on the written receipt. The whole thing was frustrating and just a waste of time.

A great find

Inspired by a good sale on room rates, my wife and I made a last minute booking in Bangkok and headed south to Samui. We weren't that sure what to expect, but were wholly impressed when we arrived and discovered we'd gotten a killer deal on an apartment sized bungalow/villa with a mind blowing view of a clear blue ocean. A private bathtub with a large open air window looking out over the water, we were impressed with the privacy, the quiet, and overall atmosphere of this unique establishment. In terms of location, you're almost equal distance to Lamai and Chaweng (a little over 10 minutes by scooter), and it's a great place to be if you want to explore the island from a base that isn't isolated or overly developed - ideal for a family or a couple looking to relax. I've been to the islands many times over the years and would definitely say this is an ideal place to be. Heading to Phangan to stay at the world famous Santhiya, the money I paid at Villa Moon was much better spent in a suite that was comparable, if not better equipped with two televisions and two dvd players and two bathrooms. Since the hotel was quiet at that point the manager kindly upgraded our suite when we requested to stay additional nights. I had the sense that this newer establishment wishes to build up some "word of mouth" and is prepared to impress and give its guests special treatment if you are friendly and it's feasible. The staff get to know you and are kind and attentive. Excellent place!
