Komatsu is located approximately 90 miles (145 kilometers) north of Nagoya and 190 miles (306 kilometers) west of Tokyo, Japan's capital.
While it may be a temptation to just kick back and relax when holidaying in Komatsu, keep in mind that the surrounding region's diverse natural sights, cities and towns lie just beyond your doorstep. Fukui and Tonami are just two of the many other places worth checking out while you're in Ishikawa.
When you are ready to head further afield beyond Komatsu, why not check out the nearest regional area. Kanazawa is 16 miles (26 kilometers) away and features sights including Daijoji Temple, Ninja Temple and Tentoku-in. 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Ishikawa Prefectural Museum and Kanazawa Castle are just a few of the many other interesting visitor attractions on offer here.
Before you leave on your jouney, do as savvy travelers do and learn to understand a variety of relevant words in Japanese. "Isshoni odorimasenka?" is Japanese for "Would you like to dance with me?" "Benjo wa doko desu ka?" ("Where's the toilet?") is also helpful.
When it's finally time to pack up your gear and say "Sayōnara" to Komatsu, you'll have many plenty of good memories.
