Well located hotel but not best value for moneyPosted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: Location - close to everything in central KK
Cons: Ensuring bed linens are unstained-one of the quilt covers had several brown stains. Checking electricals/lights-entry foyer light kept flicking on/off
Location: Close to the waterfront and lots of restaurants
I recently stayed at Horizons for a two day work trip. It was fine for this purpose but I think other similarly rated local hotels offer better value for the same price. The hotel is well located, fairly clean and comfortable. The hotel appears to be popular with tour groups. Considering the hotel is relatively new, the fixtures are not in great condition - lots of wear and tear and small things that were irritating (see improvements below). Staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is okay. Wifi is available as part of the room rate which is good - the speed is okay.

Good location, good business hotelPosted Jun 14, 2014
Pros: Decent wifi strength in my room and reasonable connection speed for KK where the broadband is generally unstable and slow.
Location: Good location for local food and restaurants.
One of the few hotels in KK to have BBC News channel. The sarung for guests' use is a cute gimmick (in addition to the bathrobes). Generally, I had a good stay.

Great location, great pricePosted Jun 11, 2014
Very reasonable pricing, with all amenities and best of all, centrally located within the heart of the city. It was a 5-10 min walk anywhere, with so many great food and cultural places to visit. Great view of the water too - amazing sunsets. Pillows are way too soft, but apart from that, no complaints at all. Hotel staff were super helpful.

Amidst the hustle bustlePosted Jan 6, 2014
Pros: cleanliness and courteous staff
Cons: Breakfast islands and tables arrangement
Location: Tuanku Abdul Rahman Marine Park just a boat ride away from Jesselton Jetty; Lok Kawi Nature Wildlife Park for a glimpse at the Proboscis Monkey
Not a opportunity to be missed..a great place to start exploring the west coast of Sabah. The hotel has a lot of commendable services like secured free parking, good signage, ample area for activities, great modern decor and amenities.

Modern Hotel in Central LocationPosted Dec 4, 2013
Large, comfortable modern room. Extremely comfortable bed. The hotel was in a convenient central location. The breakfast buffet was disappointing, but for the price, the hotel was a good value. Front desk, tour information was not impressive. Fortunately we stayed at a more full service hotel earlier on our trip, so the lack of service here was not an issue for us.

very convenientPosted Oct 26, 2013 on Hotels.com
we were upgraded to a deluxe room japanese zen type which has a circular bath tub and big lavatory, toilet seat with bidet. room size is 35 square meters, same size as standard room. room has hi speed complimentary wifi. free breakfast was pretty impressive as praised by most reviewers with good spread and choices. fresh fruits with super sweet honeydew and papayas are just unbelievable. it has an infinity pool on the 6th floor. within 5-10 minute walk from hotel are 4 shopping malls, kk plaza, wisma, suria, and centerpoint/warisan. from warisan, one can take a free shuttle bus to 1 borneo hypermall which leaves every hour. kk plaza and centerpoint are mid scale malls, while wisma and suria are up-scale malls, but suria is the newest mall. local tours are readily available down the lobby for you to choose from which is convenient for personal or group tours. outside the hotel is a city bus stand which costs rm0.50/pax to take you within the city. taxi from hotel to 1 borneo fixed rate is rm30..right outside of kk plaza was a central market and night market. the downside is...this property caters to majority tour groups from china wihich makes it horribly loud and unruly. they shout and yell like in their own home, leave room door open and talk between rooms even late at night, not to mention slamming of doors repeatedly!
