Kotzebue hotel

Posted Aug 9, 2014
Pros: Easy to spot from the airport. Nice rooms with micro and mini- fridge. Received certificate for crossing the Arctic Circle. Right next to the ocean
Stayed to visit the National Parks in NW Alaska by charter flights. Could walk everywhere we wanted to go in town. Be sure to visit the local hospital to see its Native Alaskan arts and crafts display. The cafeteria at the hospital is a good place to eat. The reindeer stew at the hotel restaurant is really good.

Arrived quite early in the day--far too early to check in, however the staff found a room for us and allowed us to check in early. Very friendly and accommodating.

Touch of luxury above the arctic circle

Location: Don't miss visiting the National Park Service Visitor's Center...and having dinner at the Bayside Inn, right next to the hotel.
By far the best place to stay in Kotzebue...very cozy and pleasant. A great place to return to after a week camping in a remote valley of the Brooks Range. We especially appreciated the efficiency and friendliness of the breakfast room manager. It's important to remember before going that the hotel is a non-smoking, non-drinking facility.
