Great resort, private and secluded from Ao NangPosted Sep 18, 2013
Cons: More boats services to Ao Nang beach
Location: Ao Nang not great, plenty of day trips to neighbouring islands, jungle tours, elephant rides, water sports.
Excellent resort, just returned from a 7 night stay. Would defiantly return for another relaxing holiday. So glad we booked this hotel given we saw where we could have stayed when we went into Ao Nang for supplies. Ao Nang it's self wasn't what I expected at all, every other shop sells the same crap souvenirs and the restaurants weren't great. Thankfully the resort made the holiday, sat by the beach, pools most days and the food in the 4 restaurants was amazing and note overly priced. If you have mobility issues then this wouldn't be the best hotel, lots of steep stairs to get to every room. Beware of the monkeys, if the door isn't locked they can open the sliding doors and search for food as we experienced on the first night. The monkey trail again is very steep however great to walk off those cocktails, Ao Nang can be accessed by boat, be careful of the private long boats, our skipper got confused where we wanted to go, whig took 2 hours to return to the resort, which should have been 10 mins. Overall fantastic hotel, would definitely recommend.

Dear Ross from Melbourne Thank you for sharing your comments on this forum following your recent stay at our resort. It was a pleasure to read you enjoyed your stay including our restaurants, and yes our resort is not suitable for people with any mobility issues, due to all the steps. The monkeys can be a challenge and we continue to encourage guests NOT to feed the monkeys and to keep your doors locked, otherwise they will enter your room looking for food. Once again thank your for your kind support and recognition and we look forward to welcoming you back when you are next in Krabi. Kind regards, David Martens

Great to relaxPosted Sep 11, 2013
Pros: location, facilities, friendly staff, views,
Cons: better communication re hotel facilities and how to get to village etc instead of using boat shuttle
Lovely venue, a bit isolated unless you want to climb over the hill into the main tourist area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, great room, views of the beach etc,

Paradise by the beachPosted Aug 26, 2013
Set in a national forest, the grand centara krabi was a perfect getaway for us newly married couple . Moments before you approach the hotel pier, we were awed by the view. The hotel facilities are excellent. The rooms very large, views excellent. The service is top notch. The only problem we found was that we arrived early at 11am after a very long flight, we were made to wait until 2pm for a room. Overall must stay place if you want to relax and be away from the crowds. The trips around the hotel are amazing.

Unforgettable Floating JettyPosted Aug 12, 2013
Pros: Room is well deco
Cons: Transportation to the main land.
Overall stayed in this hotel is average level only. Not recommend to family who bring elderly together because of the floating jetty. Room facilities is good but the food is expensive and not so tasty according to my taste. The most troublesome was very inconvenient, have to take hotel boat service to happening Ao Nang beach. Must make the reservation for the boat service and that's a limited seat for every trip.

Dear Jeff Thank you for y sharing your feedback following your recent stay at our resort. Your are correct to stay that the hotel is not suitable for anyone that has mobility issues due ot the floating jetty and the many stairs within the property. I appreciate your comments about our access however this informaiton is listed on our website and with all our travel partners, so people should be aware of this before they book out hotel. Once again many thanks for your feedback.

The hotel itself is excellent.Posted Aug 12, 2013
Pros: Almost evrything
Cons: More chairs and umbrella on the beach and near the pools. The free diving class wasn't available during most days
Location: take a boat trip to co-phi phi - must
The hotel itself was excellent. Breakfast was excellent one of the best I ever had.The beach and the pools were very nice, even though on nice days it was short on chairs and umbrella. The access to the hotel is the challenging part and it's definitely not suitable for older people or young kids. I also saw some overweight people who had very hard time to use the boat and the floating area to come and go from the hotel. The restaurant in the hotel are very good however expensive relative to what you can eat outside.

Centara - fantastic holiday!Posted Aug 4, 2013
Pros: Multiple happy hours with a 2 for 1 policy - Singapore sling is to die for!
Location: Idealic location - don't be scared to trek the monkey trail to town as its well worth the 7min trek for anyone who is able bodied
Centara Grand beach resort was the most fabulously relaxing holiday we have ever experienced. Upon arrival at the Krabi international airport staff were eagerly waiting to collect our bags and take us to a town car to drive to Ao Nang and meet the boat for the trip to Centara. Honestly the weather out at sea when we arrived wasn't ideal but the trip was short and the boat was more than equipped to handle the conditions. When pulling up to the floating pontoon a dozen staff were racing out to grab bags and help each passenger in to the safety of land. I recommend anyone that stays at Centara to climb the monkey trail and walk into town, the food is extremely cheap and more authentic thai, however on lazy days the resort still has a magnitude of culinary delights to satisfy any traveler. Ensure you spend the extra and have the breakfast buffet as it was delicious, most days we would fill up on that, laze around the pool/beach before a late arvo trek across the monkey trail to enjoy the small night life of town and find some great local food. (Don't be scared to try some of the ...dodgier looking shops for noodle soups and fare as it is dirt cheap (50 baht per dish) and amazing tasty! All in all Centara was fabulous and we will definitely go back, however this time we will be a little more aware of the cheeky monkeys.... They aren't scared of humans and will drop onto your balcony or run up the beach to the restaurants and attempt to steal your food if you aren't vigilant

Surrounded by limetsone cliffs and seaPosted Jul 19, 2013 on Hotels.com
our family had a wonderful holiday here, all interests were catered to with a pool, kayaks, access to scuba diving, a wonderful Spa treatment, lovely restaurants and a breakfast buffet that catered to all tasted/requirements. The staff were always freindly, approachable and helpful. The only potential negative is also its positive. The resort is inaccessible by road, and is therefore truly private. You can only travel there via the potentially challenging and steep Monkey Trail (yes, lots of monkeys who are there in search of plastic bags and any food you might be carrying) or via the sea. They run their own scheduled boat service (it could be more frequent, we did feel a little restricted in being able to leave the resort to visit Krabi and Ao Nang). A floating dock is used at the resort, and although the staff put a lot of effort into assisting you, if the waves are up then the dock also becomes a little challenging. Our family rose to the challenges and thoroughly enjoyed it all - including the wildlife (monkeys, squirrels, monitor lizards) within the resort, since the resort itself is within a national park. We wouldn't hesitate to reccomend it to anyone who is confident with bush walking/boats/sea.

Very HappyPosted Jul 6, 2013 on Hotels.com
This is a really nice hotel. The room was beautiful, the shower was very nice. The view was awesome, we did have a Jacuzzi tub on our balcony but do not know what for. We tried to fill it up for an hour or so it only filled maybe a third of the way up and we ran out of hot water. Monkeys came out at dinner time and tried to open up every sliding door to see if they could score an easy dinner of fruit from people's rooms. It is a nice beach and a nice pool. Had a good time here

The best place for western tourist.Posted Jun 11, 2013
Pros: Peaceful, good environment, clean swimming pool, relaxing
Cons: Not worth for Asian currency.
Location: Not convinence at all.
Is a good resort but not worth for the money. Is like an island far from krabi. Have to take speed boat every time whenever want to go to aonang beach.
