“Nice hotel and quiet”
We stayed here for 5 nights during the begining of May. It was very quiet, mainly due to this being the start of low season. Rates for the hotel are also cheaper this time of year than usual.
We were checked in quickly and shown to our room. Rooms are nice with large balconies and seating. Good modern room, with mini bar, tv, dvd player, hair dryer, fridge, dressing gowns, slippers, safe. Bathroom however did not have a bath, the shower was ok, but not very powerful and at times cold which is not what you expect from a '5 star' hotel.
Breakfast good with wide range, cooked English/American, continental, Thai along with fresh fruit, cheese, ham, pastries and cakes. Also ate in the resturant which was good too. As it was low season there was only one restaurant open which was a shame as I thought the one by the pool looked better. But service good.
The hotel is on a steep hill so walking from reception to the breakfast and then to the other pool can be tough, but a free buggy is available as and when. There isn't much to do in the area, unless you get the free shuttle or tuk tuk to saladan. Enough shops and places to eat which are far more cheaper than in the hotel. Beach is ok, but not the best in Thailand.
Nice enough hotel but more a 4 star than 5 star.
