“Pleasant Surprise”

We decided to go to Krabi with no expectations and to take it as it comes. Having being to Phuket twice and wanted to try a more relaxed and isolated experience, this resort sounded like a good idea. We did however read many reviews from various sources about The Railay Bay Resort and realized that it is a 50/50 chance of either loving it or hating the experience. One thing we have found on these reviews: people can moan and groan about petty things and actually forget why they went on holiday in the first place. The whole idea is to relax and de-stress and let others do things for you. Well this is exactly how we felt at his resort. From the moment our transfer (through the hotel) met us at Krabi airport, we felt valued and the holiday began. After enjoying cold bottled water in the taxi, we were at the pier and our hotel "longboat" waiting patiently for us and our luggage. Once at the reception, we could check in straight away: 10 am in the morning, excellent. All smiles and "sawadee ka" wherever you went. Hotel is more concentrated on the west (swimming beach), although some "bures" face the not so nice "swamp area" where most longboats operate. With low tide it can be a bit smelly, but it's part of the experience. Lots of cafe's and restaurants and well priced. Loads of convenience shops. The whole village has a lot to offer. In the 8 days we stayed, we found things to do every day. Breakfast good and "phad thai" at "Flametree Cafe" excellent Baht 150. Will be back soon!

Thailand was fabulous, Railay Bay Resort was amazing!!!!! My boyfriend & I spend 3 days in Koh Phi Phi and then ventured to Krabi for the last 3 days of our adventure in Thailand and stayed at Railay Bay Resort. The spa was fabulous and pretty reasonable, the pool was gorgeous, the view of the beach breathtaking. The food was again fabulous and very reasonable, there Thai salad was to die for! However that being said our Jacuzzi tub did not work in the room and we asked the front desk about a local shopping market for clothes etc. She sent us to Krabi Town which took forever to get too and ended up being a local food market. We where not really impressed with this advice and Krabi Town was interesting but not what we were looking for which was knock off sunglasses, tee shirts, some cute little shops and restaurants. All in all thou Railay is fabulous and a great place to stay while visiting Krabi!

We went to Railay Bay Resort for a few days of our honeymoon - the Privacy Cottage was wonderful. The rooms are large and clean and the service was excellent. The pools are gorgeous and the beach setting is unbeatable. It's easy to get to via long-tailed boat and there are a few activities to do in the area - rockclimbing, sea kayaking and caves, as well as chilling on the beach or pool with a cocktail. A great place to relax!

“Privacy Cottages are a Nice Bargain”

I currently live in Thailand, so staying at a resort like this was a bit of a splurge for me but I still found it to be a bargain (at least during low season). I did research online prior to booking which tended to favor staying in the privacy cottages, and I was not disappointed. The cottages themselves are spacious and comfortable. Ideally designed for couples, it would be easy enough for a family with one or two small children to stay in them as well. While high walls do ensure visual privacy, the cottages are arranged very close together so it is easy to hear your neighbors. Overall, the resort was well maintained. I found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The restaurant was not the best Thailand has to offer, but was on par with most other resorts/restaurants on the beach. Railay Beach itself is a fairly small beach community sandwiched between cliffs/jungle to the north and south. Railay Beach Resort was one of the few locations where you can easily walk all the way across and get to the beaches located to the East and West. There are numerous restaurants, pubs and convenience stores within walking distance.

there's many nice places in Railay but Bay resort has it all. great food, helpful staff, excellant accomodation and service. highly recommended for families or couples. railay will one day be discovered by the masses, so hurry up. its still beautiful.

“Great location, fantastic facilities”

My husband and I stayed at Railay Bay Resort and Spa for six nights as part of our honeymoon. We had previously arranged a transfer from Krabi Airport to the hotel with the hotel staff and the service was excellent. We were transported in an air conditioned van with complimentary water. We were then taken on a longboat to Railay Beach. When we arrived, we had to wait about 1.5 hours for our room to be ready, but this was fine as it meant we could have a leisurely lunch. Our bags were handled directly by the staff the entire time. Overall, our stay was very pleasant. The room was was large, clean and cool, with an ensuite bathroom with shower and air conditioning. There was also an outdoor shower and a jacuzzi, which we used a couple of times. Although the resort was geared more for families than couples, it was a great place to stay for its location, facilities (two pools, a spa and large restaurant) and its friendly, industrious and attentive staff. The only downside to our stay was the throngs of screaming children in the pools and the cheesy live music that was played during dinner, which meant we avoiding using the pools and having dinner at the hotel restaurant most of the time. Apart from that, I would highly recommend Railay Bay Resort and Spa.

“Best of limited choice”

Wanted to visit Railay Beach but hotel selection limited. The very pricey Rayavadee is next door so commands the same location which was beautiful. Hotel good but not brilliant. Breakfast awful but other meals nice. This is good for a few nights and the beach location is great...do NOT stay on the east! A bit cut off though so limited food options...Rayavadee restaurants excellent but expensive.
