Dirty hotel
The hotel was in much worse condition than the pictures make it out to be. The rooms had multiple things broken, including the refridgerator which had a puddle of water inside and the bathroom sink which literally fell apart multiple times even when they said they'd fix it. The rooms were also very dirty, there was a thick layer of dust/lint on top if the tile, stained towels, old soaps left in the shower, and mold/mildew in all the tiles. They also charge you extra to use a key fob that you need to get into the building. The only good thing was the location, which was a 10min walk to the beach.

Nice quiet area close enough to the beach and night market. Staff were very friendly. Room was always cleaned well. Had a balcony to relax on. Only thing to note was wifi was only available in the lobby.

An absolute delight
It was an absolute pleasure to stay at this hotel. If Thailand is "the land of smiles" then this hotel has "the staff of smiles". There is a good choice for breakfast and the dining area is a lovely open verdana. Highly recommended and value for money

Amazing stay, GREAT value for money
My stay at Royal Nakara was great from beginning to end. The staff was really friendly and welcoming! When I asked if special arrangements could be done for a late check-in they replied very quickly via email that it was possible. Once I got there I got upgraded to a room upstairs, that had a great view, because I booked early in advance. My room was cleaned every day and the maids always left nice elephant arrangements with the towels, small touch, but thoughtful. The room was clean and well kept since I arrived. The breakfast every morning was a bonus! It was really nice with omelettes done as you prefer. The hotel is located close to 2 beaches and the night market, which makes it a great location, the only down side is the poor lighting on the road that leads to it and the lack of a sidewalk, but all in all really safe and well located. The pool was nice and I enjoyed it alone, but I have the feeling that if more people got in, it’d get a bit crowded. The water I think was not chlorinated or something was odd about it, but still perfectly good for an afternoon swim, plus the waterfall decoration is really pretty. I enjoyed my stay here very much. I’d definitely come back and recommend it to anyone who wishes to visit Krabi.

Nice little boutique hotel close to the beach
Nice little boutique hotel minutes from the main drag and beach. Breakfast included changed daily so that was nice. Front staff really friendly and always asked if there is anything more they could do. We got upgraded to a bigger room without asking. Had a lovely view of the ocean from our large balcony. Would definitely stay at this hotel again!

So many thinrgs to complain about that im not even sure with what should i start with. A layer of dirt in the room, broken balcony door, no one speaks english at the reception, receptionist tried to fool me with booking another night and charging double the price etc. All in all - stay away from this place

Overall. Very satisfied.
Overall I really enjoyed my stay here. I've read lots of reviews about the suites being dated and although the fabric headboard showed some signs of wear the rest of the room was just fine (other then the TV but who cares about that on vacation). If you're looking to hang at the pool all day this isn't the place for you but it's only a block from the beach. Oh and for the breakfast complainers. Not sure what you expect from fried eggs, omelette etc. but it's basic eggs but satisfying.

3 nights off season. Hotel was quiet but staff were very friendly and helpful. Top floor has nice views across the bay and the room was very spacious, with a large balcony. Area is a bit of a walk from the main beachfront road but there are many good restaurants nearby such as bussaba for thai food and carnivore for western. Wifi is poor though. Good value overall.

Overall a lovely experience. Great hotel, staff we really nice. Breakfast was delicious. Room was big and very clean. It's a bit hidden from the main road, so people may get lost trying to get there for the first time. We got lost!

We were greeted with juice upon arrival which was great because it was a long walk to get to the hotel. The second day there was no water. The third day there was no electricity. You'll notice an award from 2013 for the hotel in the lobby. Seems like they haven't kept it up for the past few years.

Great experience at the Royal Nakara. The staff's English isn't too great but they carried our bags up the stairs and were VERY accommodating. Super nice and spacious room.

We were disappointed with our night staff check-in. They seemed more interested in watching TV than checking us in. Limited English. Our room was huge, almost too big. The hotel was a bit shabby and the pictures must have been taken some years ago. Our deck had black mold on it, so we did not go out on it. The breakfast was mediocre. The room had a number of items not working (lights, kitchenette sink, etc.). The day staff was definitely better, but we weren't there during the day time much. I would not recommend this hotel. There are others close by that appear much nicer and newer.

A very cosy hotel
The hotel is a walking distance to the Main Street. There were 2 lady staffs who can speak fluent English and are very helpful. The room is spacious and clean although the furnitures were not exactly brand new and shower heater may not work after awhile. But we loved the buffet breakfast and the man who is in charge of the egg station. He cooks different types of eggs according to our likings and we loved it!

We stayed there for 2 nights. It was a pleasant experience to stay at Royal Nakara. The staff were friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast eventhough not so many choices but it was well cooked and tasty. The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was also clean.

Cozy hotel! Worth the money!
Me and my boyfriend were overall very happy with our 4 nights stay. Our room was spacious and clean. I could see the mountains from the balcony of our room. There is no lift in the hotel but we didn't have any complains with taking the stairs. We find the rooms in the basement cozier. Our room was at the third floor. The swimming pool looks pretty clean too. The female receptionist (I think she is the owner) was very kind and helpful (I know how demanding my boyfriend can get). For us, it does not really matter if they were of any help as long as we can see their sincerity and smiles. Now for the downside, the receptionists can't speak english and he couldn't understand us, only the female owner is able to communicate in basic english but most of the times she is not there. Nonetheless the staff still tried their best to understand and help us. The keys of the hotel is attached to a magnetic tag that starts electricity running in the room and there are no duplicate keys provided so every time we go out the air conditioning totally goes off and leaves the room stuffy. We were not too impressed by the breakfast, but couldn't complain much for the price i paid. We strongly recommend this massage palour right before the bridge leading towards Moon beach we visited since the first night. The masseurs were friendly and skillful. After a 60min full body massage they offered us this refreshing sweet Thai tea. Don't go to the ones along busy streets and markets.

It was a pleasant stay. You get to catch the sunset right in front of your room. To get to shops on ao nang, it will be easier with a motorbike. Food vendors are easily accessible on the main road. I reckon it is only available on weekends. The reception isn't 24 hours. Don't be surprise if you didn't see any one in the reception after 12am. Massage corner was great!

we had encountered other hotels who have receptionists who can't really speak english, the receptionist at royal nakara can speak english well, which is helpful. good location, short walk to Ao Nang beach, a bit longer walk to Noppharathara beach. went on low season for honeymoon and they gave us a free upgrade to a lovely suite at the top floor which was nicely furnished, with hair dryer, microwave, aircon and a nice balcony. We didn't use the balcony as it was raining a lot during our two night stay. The hot water boiler is a bit small so when taking a shower the hot water runs out and you have to wait a minute or two before hot water comes again. No lift, but guests only need to climb 2-3 floors, so this is fine. TV has english and chinese channels. Value for money.

Been traveling SE Asia for a couple months now, and must say this was one of my least favorite hotel/hostel accommodations. Yes, this is a budget option but after relocating within Ao Nang to a different hostel, I realized that there were FAR better places for the same (or lower) price. The location was within a decent walk to the beach...although the staff directed us to walk through wild-dog-ridden back alleys as the "shortcut". Restaurants nearby were also decent at best, but overpriced for certain. Wish that the hotel offered at least some sort of menu. Didn't use the pool but wow is it in a weird location, literally sandwiched between two buildings. Room was okay but our water, both in the sink and shower, was yellow and didn't get warm at all. Overall, don't expect a whole lot if you're choosing Royal Nakara. Look for something further down Ao Nang Beach.

Lovely hotel in Ao Nang
The hotel room was spacious and the view was quite nice. The pool was lovely. We felt that it was good value for money. Shopping area was within walking distance and easy access to street food as well. Other restaurants are easily accessed by foot or taxi.

Excellent customer service (staff was happy to store our luggage for the day and very helpful in finding transport to Krabi town), room was large and nicely decorated, good facilities. Location walking distance to Main Street. A slight inconvenience with no lift so got to walk up and down the stairs but the staff helped up carry our luggage down and our room was only one level down.

Really good value and really helpful staff
The staff here were so helpful- they let me leave my bag there for a week while I went to Phi Phi. The room was very spacious and immaculately cleaned every day. The breakfast was great and the pool is a nice relief from the heat. I thoroughly recommend staying here.

Was worried when it took us some time to reach the hotel from Krabi airport and we thought it would be quite a distance to go to the beach. But everything turned out to be fine, beach is within walking distance and you may walk to the shops and boutiques by the beach or even to Mcd.

Quiet, short walk to the beach.
Fairly new on the inside, this hotel is a little hard to find but worth it. Rooms were quiet, away from the hustle of the beach area a 5 minute walk away. They have parking if you are driving. Great value for the money!

Worth the cost, short walk to Ao Nang beach
The staff were extremely helpful and the room was large. Breakfast is standard, but included. There's a great restaurant next door and it's 10 minutes to the beach or long boats to Railey.
