Basic 3 star hotel, friendly staffPosted Sep 17, 2013
Pros: Friendly staff. Equidistant to main tourist sites. Good wi fi.
Cons: Fortunately we had a room facing the back of the hotel which was quiet. Rooms at the front would be noisy.
Location: Lots of sites to visit. The main square attracts most visitors. Wawel Hill is a must. Jewish quarter. Schindlers factory. Walk along the river.
Hotel is a bit off-centre for most main tourist attractions so be prepared for plenty of walking (or be prepared to use the trams which run frequently outside). Staff are young and friendly and very approachable, willing to help with travel and siteseeing arrangements. All speak good English. Hotel is situated on a main road serviced by frequent trams so get a room facing the small court at the back if possible to cut down the noise. Our room was comfortable with a small balcony. Breakfast was good with a reasonable selection of hot and cold dishes.

Nice hotel. Well situatedPosted Sep 7, 2013
Pros: Close to public transport, clean, good value.
Cons: Room smelled a little like smoke? Noisy if your room is on the street side.
Location: Salt mines
Staff was very helpful and courteous. Room was clean and decent. Hotel is well situated.

Krakow hotelPosted Sep 1, 2013
Pros: Excellent location for dinning and sightseeing.
Cons: A triple should be three regular beds not an extra added to make a triple. Change the breakfast menu to give people a choice on items to eat.
Location: Located on a tram line if needed. restaurants-all ethnic varieties and the castle and old town are walkable
Hotel was well located and easy walk to most tourist areas. Many restaurants in the vicinity of the hotel. The hotel is located on a tram line. We had a room in the back of the hotel which was very quiet. Can not state how noisy a front room would be. The hotel has a breakfast room only which is quite adequate in size, but their was absolutely no change in the menu. It became quite boring after the 3rd meal. Bathroom was in need of shelves for toiletries. I expected 3 single beds as this is what I booked, but the third bed was put together bed and my son had trouble sleeping as this one only was not confortable. The size of the room for a triple was more than adequate with enough draw space. Lighting was good.

Close to Old Town and the Jewish QuartersPosted Aug 31, 2013
Pros: Location and staff. Breakfast being included is also a big plus.
Cons: Could use to update the beds. Not all rooms have comfortable beds.
Location: Kazimierz (Jewish Quarter) is literally around the corner. There are great restaurants and bars within 5 minute walk.
Great location for walking. Close to everything that is Krakow. Staff is very friendly and helpful. All speak English very well. Definitely would come back again (we stayed here 5 years ago and loved it then). Use the taxi service provided to and from the airport for really easy travel.

fantastic hotel stayPosted Aug 31, 2013 on Hotels.com
Really enjoyable short stay in Krakov. Firstly, the hotel is in excellent condition and the rooms a nicely done with a modern feel and are spotlessly clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful and speak good Engish as do most people in Krakow. The buffet breakfast was suprisingly good offering enough choice for most tastes and is constantly re-stocked. Hotel is in a really good location in Kazimierez area with plenty of good quality and affordable restaurants and local bars with lots to see and do also. Navigating is easy for walking or using the tram/bus systems. The only very minor comment would be the lack of tea and coffee making facilities but this is not the norm for hotels in Poland; however you can order rooms service and use the mini bar at nominal fee. We paid less than £60 a night and have not experienced such good value anywhere in Europe. Thanks to the staff and the lovely people of Krakow.

Thank you for choosing Columbus Hotel for your recent stay in Cracow. I was delighted to hear you had an enjoyable time at our hotel. Thank you for your opinion regarding the tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Our room service is open 24 hours and can provide the tea or coffee anytime as you wish. Unfortunately, due to the type of furniture we are not able to offer the kettle in the room. Still, we will consider your opinion as a good advice for us. Best regards Beata Michalska Hotel Manager

Very friendly staff: convenient locationPosted Aug 24, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel staff were very helpful and spoke excellent English. Rooms were what you would expect for the price. (No bar though). The hotel was a short walk to bars and restaurants near the old synagogue and about a 10 minute brisk walk from the main square. The rooms could be stuffy with the windows shut and noisy with the windows open, even at the back of the hotel: the trams kept us awake from their vibrations. We were charged more than expected, so watch out for that, but overall we would recommend the hotel.

On behalf of our team I would like to thank You for your positive feedback about our service, rooms . Regarding your note about noise coming from the street, please accept our sincere apologies for your inconvenience. Unfortunately since our hotel is placed in strict center of the city, public transportation noise is hard to avoid. Thank you again for staying with us. With kind regards Columbus Hotel Team

A fanatatic find.Posted Aug 12, 2013
Pros: Location. It was in an excellent location for sightseeing.
Location: close to the main shopping street, churches and synagogues. An excellent location for large choice of restaurants and bars.
Prior to our arrival I emailed the hotel requesting a twin room at the rear of the building. We got exactly what we wanted. The reply email was received within several hours despite sending it late at night. The reception staff were helpful throughout our stay too, giving advice on trips, transport and anything else we asked - nothing was too much it seemed. The room was spotless and very comfortable. The shower very roomy and complimentary items replaced daily along with bottles of water. The breakfast spread was varied and delicious - we couldn't have wanted more! The hotel was on a main road but we couldn't hear the traffic. The tram stop that took us straight to the main station was within spitting distance of the front door which was jolly handy when going back to the airport!! Overall I could not recommend Columbus enough!
