“Happy Birthday in French”

Great location. Very helpful staff. Enjoyed having breakfast with a group of French school kids one of whom had a birthday. They sang a French version of "Happy Birthday to You!"

“Centrally located to Rynek and Wavel”

From the train station you can take a bus directly to this hotel. I believe its bus 304. The bus stops a block before the street the hotel is on. Walking to the Wavel about 10 minutes and Rynek 15 minutes. The same bus continues to the salt mines about 1/2 hour from the hotel. Excellant location Hotel clean, during my stay quiet. You can make a tea or coffee for yourself anytime in a spacious and clean kitchen. Breakfast abundant with yogurt, cold cuts, bread, fruit, tea or coffee on a help yourself basis. Although serverd from 8:00 am they were ready prior to 7:30 if you need an early start. Area very safe for walking to the rynek and wavel at night. Staff very helpful even allowing me the use of their telephone to make a call without charging. I would stay at the Secret Garden again.

“more than a garden”

I've stayed here twice, both times for about 2 weeks each and this place is sooo charming! The staff really do their best to look after you and make your life convenient. The location is really central as well, steps to Plac Nowy and about the distance from Houston to Union Square (nyc ref) to Rynek Glowny. Should you decide to stay here you will not be dissapointed. Pozdrawiam!

“Great value, friendlyand well run hostel.”

We did the typical touristy things & visited the most popular sites. We hired electric bikes, used public transport, went independently whenever we could, met a good number of Poles and had a great holiday. Early June saw the end of the flooding & cold, rainy days and our week was one of clear blue skies & temps into the mid 20s - great. We were struck by the cleanliness of Krakow's streets & pavements, the greeness of the countryside, the amount of graffiti , excellent ice creams, the huge variety of restaurants - really cosmopolitan - and good inexpensive meals, the absence of local wine (unless you paid over £15 a bottle for Hungarian or Chilean, and the ease of finding your way round. We did a great deal of walking/wandering/exploring and found people helpful: most youngsters spoke English, as did waiters & many shopkeepers. An excellent holiday in a fascinating city - some of it very beautiful, some of it run-down, but all that we saw proved interesting & a great city for people watching and for public entertainment. Jazz clubs & classical concerts proved popular and we did discover places where excellent beers from micro breweries were sold.

“great hostel in krakow”

we arrived at the secret garden hostel and were impressed with the cleanliness and style of the building. when we went to check in she said as we were a couple she had arranged for us to have her apartment instead of the twin beds on site. we walked a few blocks to a great modern apartment 10 mins walk from all the action - it was great and what a bargain!

“Good value”

The hostel was well organised with plenty of information to hand and friendly staff to advise. It was very clean throughout the building. The rooms are basic but comfortable although linen does not get changed daily. Free internet is excellant. It is about 20 mins walk into the old town or the tram goes past regularly 5 stops from central station. Breakfast is simple but adequate, considering the price it was good value

“Good Hotel”

The front desk staff were really friendly and helpful. Our room was at the front of the hotel which could get a bit noisey if people were sitting out in the garden chatting at night. Otherwise everything was clean and the location was an easy walk to most things (30 minutes to train and bus station, 15 minute to the Main Square, 5 minutes to bars and pubs.

“clean and good condition.”

I enjoyed my stay here. the hotel was clean and freshly painted. The breakfast was good and staff was helpful. The only trouble was that the walls were thin and it was noisy well past the quiet time of 10pm.
