Great value

This is a great value for a base in Krakow. It's quiet, well kept, and there are plenty of private bathrooms. It didn't feel like a hostel at all!

Good for the price

The Secret Garden Hotel is a good value for the money. It is located in Kazimierz - the former Jewish quarter of Krakow. The hotel is located close to tram and bus lines making it convenient to Wawel Hill and the central square. Hotel works as a hostel with shared bathrooms. Really not a problem, but floors were a bit wet in the morning after several people had showered. Minimal wait however. Kitchen was nice with tea and coffee provided. Breakfast was free, but does not include that much.

Saving: If you stay at The Secret Garden, be sure to purchase a multi-day transit pass. These are good for all trams and busses in Krakow, and if you are going to be staying in Krakow for a few days it is well worth it.

I enjoyed my stay here. the hotel was clean and freshly painted. The breakfast was good and staff was helpful. The only trouble was that the walls were thin and it was noisy well past the quiet time of 10pm.

Well-run Hostel

Secret Garden is a very well run hostel- the decoration is bright and cheery and even though you have to share bathrooms there are plenty and they are all modern and clean. Four star hotel staff could take lessons from the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff and the info provided by them. The location, in Kasimierz, the Jewish Quarter, is a fascinating neighborhood with history, interesting restaurants, and edgy bars. Secret Garden is only about a 15 to 20 min easy walk to the historic square and city center. If you're looking to save travel dollars and yet stay in a great place, I'd recommend the Secret Garden Hostel.

Would stay again

I wasn`t sure about to book this one due I had never stayed in a hostel before and I can say that this was realy great. The breakfast is OK and big plus internet for free. Staff extremely helpful, specialy a representative named Joana. It takes about 10 to 15 minutes to walk to main square but it`s a very pleasant walk, it`s safe to walk late at night in these streets.

Saving: For guests with light baggage save the taxi from the airport to downtown and take the complimentary shuttle from airport to train stop (about 10 minutes) and train will take you to train station in downtown, about 8 usd dolar per person but you have to exchange money at airport for local currency, and from there the hostel is about 30 minutes walking, make sure to get a free map at airport so you don`t get lost.
