“Lived In But Nice”

Stayed two nights. Missed the castle tour because we were there during the week and tours are on weekends. Enormously expensive but a fabulous old building. Large, comfortable room, free wireless, nice bathrooms (with tub and shower), great restaurant. Kronberg itself is charming and very close to Frankfurt. It has a bit of a lived in feel, but service is impeccable all the way around.

“Excellent hotel!”

This was a wonderful place to stay, and Kronberg in general was a delightful little town, very traditional and clean. You do need to know that the cab ride from the airport is about 25 min and $45. There is a train that goes there also, and it is cheaper, but you'll have to lug your luggage a fair distance. Service, people, and facility couldn't have been better at this hotel though.

“The best hotel we have stayed in”

Although we had high expectations for the Schlosshotel Kronberg prior to arriving, and tend to be picky about hotels, our expectations were exceeded during our one evening stay. The hotel itself is indescribably beautiful- essentially a large and beautiful English manor set at the foot of the Taunus Mountains. It appeared that the Empress Victoria Frederick may have been trying to re-create one of the Bristish royal residences of her childhood as the daughter of Queen Victoria. The public rooms are magnificient large oak and mahogany panelled great rooms with large fireplaces. Our room was furnished with exquisite antique furnishings and fabric wallpaper with a view toward the formal gardens. Our daughters were thrilled to stay in a castle out of a fairy tale. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer. Although the hotel is rather pricey, we felt it was worth it as a once in a lifetime experience. We hope to return.

“Willing to visit again snowy Kronberg”

The hotel was impressively beautiful, both inside and outside, and the staff friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, clean and beautiful too. The location of the hotel is great if you don't mind walking (Kronberd old town and train station to Frankfurt are approximately 20 minutes walking distance from the hotel).

“Verry nice hotel.”

I will come back for sure. Great atmosphere. Great place. The bar and the restaraunt were a little bit expensive.

“Comfort steeped in history”

An impressive historical building with comforts of a modern hotel with excellent facilities and friendly professional and very helpful staff. Breakfast and dining are excellent. Careful to book for lunch and afternoon tea at weekends which we were told was booked 3 months in advance

“Nice but not a leading hotel”

The location of the the hotel is great. In the middle of a large park. There is a rose garden, riding stables. We rented bikes. The village is beautiful but not an easy walk. You can make it there with a bike in around 15 minutes. That is part of the problem. If you do not have a car you are isolated at the hotel. If your goal is to get away and go nowhere else, this is the place for you. We thought the dining room was very pricey, had great service but the food was average at best. To much salt. Some of the "compliments from the kitchen" had been cooked long before and were old. It is a nice dining room, but I bet there are much better places in Frankfurt for the same price. There is no spa or work out room. Summary: nice motel, not much to do bring a car, and find somewhere else to eat dinner.

“Superb place for history buffs”

Amazing historic setting with spectacular grounds. The only disappointment was that the food was mediocre and very expensive. This hotel is worth it for the experience, but if you want chic, modern, and updated it would not be the place for you. History buffs will revel in the fabulous architecture and sense of being immersed in a royal residence.
