The Istana Hotel was a beautiful hotel with high quality service in an excellent location in the Golden Triangle area of Kuala Lumpur. Our 6 day stay there on the 6th floor with views over the KL skyline, including the Petronis Towers, was most enjoyable. Would definitely return to this hotel and highly recommend it to those who appreciate the ambience and aesthetics of a classical abode.

My wife and I were very impressed with the Istana Hotel. It looked very impressive and inviting! Visiting in September was a bonus as it coincided with the Ramadan. This meant the hotel put on a huge buffet feast each night .

“Wonderful stay in KL”

The Hotel Istana was a wonderful experience. The trip was my first to Kuala Lumpur and to the Hotel Istana. I didn't realize when booking on the Club floors, but guests on those floors have personalized service, including check-in and check-out and breakfast, in the Club Lounge. The service staff was wonderful, very helpful and friendly and the facilities were comfortable. Plus, the hotel is located across the street from a monorail station making for easy travel around the city, and it is two blocks from the Bukit Bintang area. I would definitely go back again.

“Great hotel”

This hotel is smack dab in the middle of KL. The Petronas Towers were sitting right outside my window--what a feeling is was waking up to that! I got a great deal at the hotel. Malaysia's hotels are surprisingly cheap when you compare it to next door Singapore. Like 1/3 the price for the same quality! The hotel has grand arches and moorish architecture throughout. There's a large gym in the basement, and a nice pool to splash around in. The buffet breakfast was very good--probably the best of any of the hotels I stayed during this trip. It had a nice mix of eastern and western dishes. My mom and I gorged ourselves on the juicy guava and rose apple...mmmm. The rooms are large with a big bathroom, and there's free WIFI. The service was on and off--sometimes they went beyond what I expected, like leaving their post to lead me somewhere in the hotel. Other times the service would be off--like the fact that they didn't fix my phone after I talked to them 3 or 4 times. I also found that taxi drivers would refuse to drop me off at the hotel during peak times because of the traffic around the hotel. I would have to ask to be dropped off at one of the skytrain stops. But overall a fine hotel to stay.

“A gem of a hotel”

This hotel was fantastic. The staff were unbelievable helpful and welcoming. The rooms were beautiful and the food in the hotel both room service and the restaurant was absolutley first class. I have no hesitation rec this hotel and will definately return in the future.

“Excellent deal with Expedia”

Expedia has done a great deal with the Istana hotel.... All the extras! Even the staff at the hotel was surprised! The free soft drinks and beer every day... Free newspaper Free internet - this was a great saving Free use of the media centre! Free breakfast! Thanks Expedia for such a great deal.... thoroughly enjoyed my stay! Staff at the hotel were excellent. Did have to remind staff every day about the free drinks - as they had not heard of this and had to check my booking every day (but this was a small inconvience)!
