“Comfortable and service oriented hotel”

From the time I arrived until I left, I felt very well looked after by the hotel's staff. I stayed in a Club room (floors 18 and above) which provided me with express check-in and check-out, as well as acces to the Club Lounge where they had available a great variety of items as part of the breakfast that was included in the room's price per night. I also could have afternoon tea and refreshments anytime during the day free of additional charge. The room was very comfortable and clean. The staff is truly service oriented. I highly recommend this hotel.

You can expect the most attentive services from the employees. Unfortunately, the bathtub faucet had to be serviced, so we could not use the bathtub for the first night. Two lightbulbs had to be replaced, but they were all serviced reasonably quickly. We had to ask for memo-pads and envelopes each time we needed. Internet connection charges were a little more than we expected.

“A grand entrance!”

A very efficient porter met my taxi before I could get one leg onto the forecourt. The lobby is just Grand in the style of the Great Hotels. I started from my home that morning at 04:30 and it was now 5pm.I was weary from the long day and a speedy process through check-in saw me in my room in a very short time. My luggage came immediately after me, in fact before my wife had prepared for her ablutions. Meals were freshly cooked, reasonably priced and delivered in the shortest time to our room. Every thing in the room was functional and the en suite was excellent. I will book the Istana for my next visit. One minor detail for which I was to blame was that I was unaware my Wireless Internet Connection was COMPLIMENTARY!!! BECAUSE I MADE MY RESERVATION WITH EXPEDIA. This minor irritation caused me to be very frugal with my on-line time. Thank you Expedia

The Hotel Istana was a wonderful experience. The trip was my first to Kuala Lumpur and to the Hotel Istana. I didn't realize when booking on the Club floors, but guests on those floors have personalized service, including check-in and check-out and breakfast, in the Club Lounge. The service staff was wonderful, very helpful and friendly and the facilities were comfortable. Plus, the hotel is located across the street from a monorail station making for easy travel around the city, and it is two blocks from the Bukit Bintang area. I would definitely go back again.

“Fantastic Location, Fantastic Staff!”

We were greeted in a friendly manner and taken up to the Guest Club Area on 20th Floor. Again we were shown where we could have breakfast and snacks during the day and cocktails in the evening. We were then shown to our lovely twin bedded room on the 19th Floor. The staff were fantastic and so eager to please. They organised a few excursions for us and arranged taxis at a moments notice. We queued at the Petronas Towers from 6.30am and were lucky to be in the first group that went up to the Skybridge Level 41/42 at 9.00am. The Hotel is a short walk from the Bukit Bintang shopping area. A variety of shopping for all tastes. We ate out every day and the food was excellent and not at all expensive. I would recommend the Istana to anyone staying in Kuala Lumpur. Next time we would stay for a lot longer and see more of Malaysia. When we arrived at KL International Airport we opted to take the train into KL Central. This cost 37 ringits each, took 28 minutes. From KL Central it cost about 13 ringit to take a taxi to the Hotel. Thank you to everyone who made our stay so special.
