Very elegant hotel

Posted Sep 9, 2014
Pros: The service and the luxury in the hotel was top notch.
Cons: Resturant hours, we went to the only breakfast resturant and this had closed down the resturant, and the pool bar didnt even have a chef but was open?
Location: Very close to towers, close to a few malls, and good taxi service
From arrival to this hotel the experience starts, the opening of your taxi door, collecting of your bags, the personal escourt to check in counter, right to them showing you the room you are staying in. There was alway great service here, they came and did everything and took care of any need we had whilst staying there. The room was imaculate, the view of the two towers great and right there in the windows, the bed was the best we had slept in from any Asian hotel, and the bathroom was decked out with all the luxury's you could ever ask for. The stay overall was well recomened. The only down to this hotel was eating between 11am and 12pm. Practically nothing is open at this time and you need to go outside the hotel to eat your "late breakfast" or early lunch. The breakfast resturant (only one open) was closed at 11am, and could only do a small selection takeaway from 11am onwards - and then the poolside resturant which opened at 11am had no chef and couldnt cook anything till 12pm, which was when all the other resturants in the complex opened for lunch. Therefore from 11am till 12pm we couldnt source any food in the entire hotel, but needed to go out and source it. This despite having in excess of 5 resturants in the hotel alone.

Nice hotel close to the KLCC

Posted Sep 5, 2014
Pros: Rooms were big and comfortable
Cons: Lock in the toilet door
Location: Biggest shopping mall walking distance
Liked the location, walking distance to the KLCC and the fountain. My stay was three days, and was not provided daily with creamer which I need daily.

Right in the middle of everything

I have travelled to KL several times in the last three years, as im a fan of the Sepang circuit and motorsport.. this week I stayed for the first time at the Mandarin. Somehow after walking into the lobby ages ago my thoughts were that this hotel was out of my price range. After this week I realised that in fact it was not.. The staff at any establishment can completely change a holiday experience. And to be greeted with the friendliness and service that was offered to me, by all staff was genuinely the most unique aspect of my stay.. for me this is most important.. as I travel alone. The hotel itself is beutiful, perfectly decorated and seems like a movie scene. Clean and sparkly in all aspects.. I had acess to the club lounge. Where the views from the 24th floor while taking breakfast were enough to allow the coffee to cool while overlooking the KLCC park and water features. The ever present twin towers are within a few hundred meters. My room was on the 28th floor. And the direct view of the park and towers made such a nice place to sit and relax before and after dinner.. Well appointed rooms.. comfortable and very clean.. highly polished stonework in the bathrooms, good lighting and ample services within the room. I would be happy to recommend the Mandarin Oriental to my friends and others seeking advice on where to stay.. it truely made for an exceptional visit Thank you

Amazing property just next to the twin tower.

Pros: The splendid view of Petronas tower.
Cons: The bathroom doors are without locking system. It may be trendy, but I like my privacy in the bathroom. It's kind of giving dignity to the individual.
Location: Very good location. So many places are there nearby to eat and shop. Lovely place to take a stroll.
Though the entry point of the hotel is not, as per our observation, very impressive, reception desk onward the decor is fantastic. Thanks to a wonderful person at the reception by name Chloe (I hope my spelling is correct) we were given a room with the closest possible view of the splendid twin tower. She escorted us to the room. Lift cars were sufficient and elegantly done up. They smoothly glided us to the required floor. Room was very comfortable. During check out the sweet lady Chloe was very quick in the formalities and escorted us up to the taxi. Over all the stay was very comfortable

This was a great start to our Kuala Lumpur holiday. Right at the twin towers and major KLCC shopping center. The hotel was beautiful and the room large and very comfortable. Staff very helpful.

Great location, but hotel felt a bit dated

Posted Jul 1, 2014
Pros: Variety of restaurant and bar selections; location next to the Petronas Towers; infinity pool
Cons: Rooms felt dated, especially the bathroom where the sinks and tub needed replaced. Shower unit was also disappointing.
Location: Go to Sky Bar at the Traders Hotel for drinks (avoid eating there), across the gardens for a view back onto the Mandarin Hotel and Petronas Towers.
Great location next to the Petronas Towers and shopping mall and within walking distance of several other areas of interest to tourists. Lovely infinity pool on the 3rd floor which proved useful to escaping the KL heat.
