“Will only use when I am alone or with my wife”

The privacy regarding bathrooms is a problem due to the fact that the toilet and shower has no screen off from the actual bedroom. This is bad especially with Muslims because Modesty is extremely important if you travelling with your parent or child or work colleague or friend. For husband and wife it's ok.

Area recommendations

The neighbourhood is excellent. The Golden Triangle of KL is the place to be in.

Please do not waste time visiting the Berjaya Times Squre in KL as it is hopelessly huge and you will be extremely disappointed.

“1st visit was great!”

This hotel is a great location and decent price. The delux room is a little small but perfect for a business travler. It is a short walk to the Bukit Bintang area. they have a great Sichuan restruant in the lower lobby.

“Highly Recommended!”

With a great location in Bukit Bintang, where many of your shopping needs can be satisfied, the Park Royal hotel is an excellent find and really is an awesome value for your money. With the Golden Triangle within walking distance and Chinatown a little farther out there, the location is perfect (and if walking isn't your thing, the Sky Train is conveniently located right outside-and is fairly easy to navigate). At night if you work up an appetite, the food stalls of Jalan Alor are practically right around the corner. As far as the hotel itself goes, the service was great, as the staff was very helpful with any of my requests. The room itself was very nice-one minor issue I encountered was the toilet did not flush, but with one quick call, it was fixed immediately. Room service was good as well. The hotel has many amenities that I didn't get around to using or going to, like the spa, the lounge or the restaurant.Though I used the pool, which is really relaxing after a long hot day of walking (I used the pool every day I was there). I also went to the gym once and it has what one expects from most gyms. In summary, as the title states, the Park Royal is definitely highly recommended! When I go back to KL, I will stay at the Park Royal.

Bukit Bintang - shopping, eating Chinatown - great markets Jalan Alor - really more of a street, but with food stalls, you can't go wrong Golden Triangle - shopping, sight seeing (that's all I saw, so can't really recommend other areas unfortunately)

Getting around

Beware of taxis in KL. they do not turn on their meters (oddly, even after asking them to), you need to settle on a price before getting into one, unless gotten at a hotel or arranged from the airport.

“good location”

The hotel was in a very good location. Very central with a monorail station within a block so it was easy to travel around the various sights. The staff were helpful. The only issue - and only a little issue - is that my bill at the end of my stay included a few items from the min-bar. I never touch hotel mini-bars as I bring my own things. But the staff were very apologetic and erased the mistaken items from my bill.

Bukit Bintung. Very good location. The hotel is within a block of a monorail station making travel around KL very easy.

“Excellent Staff”

The hotel was truly 5 stars. One of my best hotel stays. The reception staff were very helpful especially a staff called "Ravi".

Genting Highlands is a must-see for tourists, although it can get a bit cold so go prepared.
