Hotel in a suburban location

Posted Mar 4, 2014
Pros: Nice property
Location: Far away from anything...this hotel sits on a hilltop, and is kind of isolated.
We booked this hotel as an airport "overnight" option, but this is too far from the airport to be considered an "airport hotel". The ride from KLIA is about 30 minutes at best, and so if you need an "airport hotel" this is not your best option. Otherwise this property is very attractive and is midway between downtown Kuala Lumpur and KLIA.

Hotel was in a lovely green, peaceful area and staff were really friendly. Ideal for a short stay although a bit far from KL centre.

quiet and green

Posted Dec 11, 2013
Pros: Grounds, peaceful, warm staff
Cons: Food in Azure, background music
Location: Tour of the lake, Train to KL.
Hotel is approx 40 minutes travel by train to downtown KL. Wonderful to return to hotel after the frantic pace of the city, with nice grounds and walking paths to unwind. Let down somewhat by lack of quality of the food, especially in the premium restaurant "Azure" - frankly, not worth the money. Try either the local Marriot or Pullman hotels for a range of decent restaurants. Staff were all very friendly and professional and made up for the poor food. Also, can the hotel change the music - after six days, the same repetition of songs were beginning to get on our nerves.

Value for money for a 5 star hotel

Posted Nov 27, 2013 on Hotels.com
Location's very quiet - quite difficult to get to without a car, but the hotel is great as it's a five-star hotel. Rooms smelled a bit like smoke though, but not overpowering. Beds were really comfortable and service was excellent. Restaurant food was expensive, but it's a five-star hotel so that's pretty standard - however if you wanted cheaper food you'd need a car.

Good service

Shang hospitality. The afom Sven was very friendly and professional makes u feel like a Vvip. Daily free sunset cocktail 6-7 is a bonus. Good software but hardware wise needs a face lift, more like a wrecking ball. Box tv and dated equipment. Nice n rustic natural park, next to istana pm office. If you just there to veggetate this is a good get away, otherwise location is very isolated from other amenities

Hotel was a wonderful haven after India & Nepal!

Hotel great value for money & actually cheaper to eat in their restaurant - which served good quality food than elsewhere. Buffet particularly good. Breakfast was wonderful! Staff very helpful & the hotel provides a complimentary shuttle bus to KL. Putrajaya in a quiet location, but noise from lobby & communal areas may filter through to room in evenings, particularly if air conditioning switched off

This hotel lives up to the Shangri La standards, the only complaint was the poor breakfast, most of the dishes were luke warm at best.
