“Great secluded location near shopping.”

Slight mark down on cleanliness. The entry way carpet was clearly soiled and should not be in a 5 star hotel. Staff were wonderful and service impeccable especially the concierge staff.

Getting around

Taxis are efficient and well priced.

“Got what I expected in a Ritz propoerty”

The hotel is not located that close to the other KL business hotels nor to KLCC/Petronas Towers. So for a tourist, it's probably not the top choice. But it is next to the newest shopping center in town - and that place is very nice. It has great restaurant choices and feels much more alive than KLCC. The hotel itself was what I expect from a Ritz Carlton. Attentive service and a very comfortable room. I got what I paid for. Many of the other business hotels in KL are showing their age so it was nice to stay in a well-maintained top class hotel. I drove down from Penang for the weekend and didn't really like the fact that I had to valet park my car (most KL hotels have underground self-park) but that's a very small complaint.

Area recommendations

KL is not really much of a tourist town compared to other large cities in the region. But it has a good mix of local color and upscale amenities. It's not as sterile as Singapore or as filthy as Bangkok or Phnom Penh...it has a nice balance.

“unfriendly staff”

Hotel is fine.. however the one of the staff spoilt everything.. right from the check-in... the staff is unaware of my request and seems like day-dreaming! infact she does not seems to know the hotel policy !

“Choose Ritz for comfort”

I stayed over Chinese New Year at the Ritz with two children, the older being a teenager already. The hotel is perfectly located behind the corner from a huge shopping mall on a quiet street. The facilities were designed for maximum comfort, and we really enjoyed our stay! If you look closely, there are little 'wear and tear' signs, such as stains on the carpet, but everything was clean, comfortable,and the lay-out was great. I liked the gym, which had a bowl of fresh fruits for visitors, and the spa was perfect - except under 18s were not allowed. Breakfast is not included, but the hotel offers a really good deal for its buffet breakfast, and in all our travels (we have travelled a lot!) we agreed unanimously that it was the best buffet breakfast we'd ever had! The service was top-notch, and we hope to go back some day!

Area recommendations

The shopping mall Pavilian is less than 5 minutes from the hotel, and has a great collection of shops, restaurants and cafes, currency exchange (downstairs), the movies, and 'fish massage for feet' (upstairs near the movie theatre), for instance. Located about a 10 minute walk away is also the Komplex Budaya Kraf, which is a great place to go to to see how traditional batique (for instance) is made, and to buy Malaysian handicrafts. We had dinner at this restaurant on Jalan Conlay (same street with Budaya Kraf) that puts on cultural shows, which was fun to watch, and the food was great.

“The RITZ will always be the RITZ”

The RITZ is always known to be an elite five star hotel with a classic theam , and the KL ritz is no exeption. The location of the ritz in KL is the most important featur but the view is not that special and breakfast is not included in the offer , like most of KL five star hotels.

“Most comfortable stay at the Ritz Carlton KL!!”

See review above. Everything at the Ritz Carlton KL is luxirious and most comfortable. The staff throughout the hotel are gracious and welcoming. The dinning experiences (Chinese dinner, buffet breakfast) are most satisfying and fantastic. The location of the hotel is most convenient to shopping, dinning, and business. We love this hotel very much and want to go back to stay there right away!! Most highly recommended!!

Area recommendations

The area right where the hotel is is very very safe, convenient, has everything you want in the modern city of KL. You don't even need a car. You can walk everywhere, 10 min. walk to Petronas tower. The hotel is next to 2 superb malls: Starhill Gallery and Pavillion. You can get anything you want. There are high end restaurants as well as inexpensive food court food readily available for your taste buds.

“KL is a great city”

The Ritz's location if just perfect. Close to everything. KL is nice, clean city the people friendly. No problem with getting round town. Go have the best steak in Asia at the Qbar across the street at the Westin. Have fun.

“Probably one of the top 3 properties in Kuala Lumpur”

Excellent service, first class facilities, superb location, friendly helpful staff.

Area recommendations

KLCC area is the place you want to be. Pavillion at the heart of the Golden Triangle is top of the line as well. Most of if all can be reached within walking distance.

When to go

We went there for New Year's eve (and thenabouts). The city was happenning, hectic and livable. The best countdown party you could possible go to is heald at the Traders' Hotel Skybar. The host staff were amazingly friendly and helpful.
