“great hotel with a view to Petronas”

It^s my favourite hotel in KUL as you can see Towers out of the window. The service is great, very competent staff and always willing to help. Food is delicious and the bar has a spectacular view

Area recommendations

petronas Towers are just walking distance from the hotel, the same Aquarium and shopping center with lots of restaurants. I visited Bird and Butterfly park - higly recommended. Ipoh city is 250km ca 3 hrs drive from KUL so be sure you dont need to catch flight in the evening otherwise you dont have enough time to go back and forth

“Love Traders for a stopover”

Netherlands to New Zealand is a big trip, better to cut it in two. We used Traders hotel several times now, works for us. They even have a special Traders Lounge now, where you can relax and snack and drink yourself through the day. Book Park view to get direct view to the Petronas towers or the cheaper City view.

“Impressive hotel”

I stayed in the hotel for only one night because my stay in KL was very short. The quality of the hotel and the services was very high. The view of the Twin Towers from the room was even better than from the television tower.

“Extremely Impressed - Guess what - this is not a paid ad......”

My jaw practically dropped when I opened the curtain to reveal the awesome grandeur of the Petronas Tower, I arrived and checked in 4pm and seriously I didn't want to leave the room. I just stared at the Petronas for at least 30 minutes and I was amazed at the view and the room. The king size bed was well so confortable and the pillows were to die for. I don't remember having a good night sleep ever and I have to admit that during my 3 week trip to Thailand and Malaysia - this will be the only time that I actually practically slept in. The eye for detail is impressive from the little lollipop nicely put atop a towel, to the bathrobe that was scented, from the curtains right down to the lighting backdrop (against the bed headboard). Everything was so meticolously arranged but that's not all folks. To get to the Petronas Towers, it's a good 500 metres walk - well guess what a cute little red Benz buggy will take you there and pick you up as well - I felt like a VIP being chauffered back and forth during my trip and seriously there were a lot of people looking at the guest thinking "WOW". The staff were very friendly and honest and the housekeeping people should be commended for their professionalism, cleanliness and eye for detail.

“Excellent choice in KL”

We stayed on the club level, which was absolutely worth the money. We had a huge room, since we were given an upgrade to a suite on check-in. The club level offers tea in the afternoon with assorted pastries, drinks and more snacks for happy hour, and a buffet breakfast all served on the 32nd floor with stunning views out over the city.

Area recommendations

The hotel is a short walk 5 minute from the KLCC. You can choose to walk through the convention center next door and stay in air conditioning for nearly the whole way. The hotel also offers a buggy service between the hotel and the KLCC.

“Will return to this hotel next time in KL”

This hotel is everything the reviews said it was. Great view from the Club rooms and the Club it self. Clean and comfortable rooms. Very central to rail and shopping from this hotel. Iris was very helpful in the Club. Thank you Iris!

The shopping in this area is good - many major centres within walking distance or catch the shuttle over to KLCC.

“"Petronas: Exquisite View"”

Checked into this hotel on (2) differents occasions while on the same trip and services were consistent upon check-in. Both rooms were located on the executive floors with a view of the Petronas; abosolutely exquisite. The room configuration of a living room and bedroom provided the utmost comfort with all new furnishings. Room service was fabulous and food was unexpectedly delicious. The dedicated reception service and Traders Lounge to guests on executive floors impeccable! The fitness facility on the 26th floor allows for a unique workout session with both a city view and excellent equipment. The Sky Bar on the 33rd floor houses a great atmoshpere for guests in an open air facility with a pool and unforgettable view of the city. One minor hangup, the mosque co-located to the hotel blarred it's speakers every morning between 6-6:15 am. No matter as I had to get up anyway (except weekend), I will be returning.

Area recommendations

For individuals visiting Kuala Lumpur for the first time, I highly recommend the city center referred by locals as the Golden Triangle district (Bukit Bitang, Suria, Time Square, etc.). This area offers travelers access to shopping, metro, taxi, and all entainment.

Getting around

Use of the metro and monorail is both efficient and inexpensive method to get around Kuala Lumpur (also referred to as KL). In addition, traffic can be extremely congested and unwise to spend valuable time stuck in a taxi or car.

“Traders - back to back weekends”

I had occasion to be in KL on 2 weekends in December. This was my first trip to KL. Through advice I had read on the net I decided to give Traders a try. The location is fantastic. Walk out the back door and you're in KLCC park. Cross the park to the Petronas Towers and Suria Mall. There is a rail station on front side of the towers. Plenty of pubs and resturants within walking distance. I had booked an unobstructed towers view room and the view was unbelievable, especially at night. Nice view of KLCC park during the day as well. Room was clean and comfortable. I was unimpressed with the food. I had read great things about the breakfast buffet. There were many choices and I sampled many but just didn't find it very good. Plus for US$17.50 I could have had breakfast for a week outside the hotel. I tried lunch and felt the same way. Overall I thought the stay was pretty good and location was fantastic so I booked again for the following weekend. I booked the second stay through Expedia rather than my corporate travel site as the room rate was about 35% lower for the same room type - unobstructed towers view with king bed. However, when I arrived at check in they told me they did not have my room type available and tried to upsell me to the club level. I refused, argued and showed them the confirmation email on my Blackberry and they magically found me a "complimentary upgrade." I don't know if this is commong practice but I thought it was BS.
