Not prepared for sudden surge of visitors.Posted Aug 20, 2014
Pros: Directly above the start point of Kuching Marathon. Staff are friendly, but the efficiency is slow.
Cons: Enable the second lift for visitor usage when there is a sudden surge of visitors due to events (i.e. Kuching Marathon).
Location: Eat and beers are relatively cheap by the river side.
Room was not ready even at 3pm. There were at least 8 staff at the counter, but it seems like only 2 staffs are working. It took 30minutes to check-in, and there were no effort done to ease my friends who were all waiting in the lobby, tired and thirsty. Only 1 lift was enabled for visitors, I had to wait 10 minutes to enter the lift. Room smells of cigarette.

Good locationPosted Aug 6, 2014
The room is fine, except that the hot water isn't hot, and I'm only on the 4th floor. Staff not very well versed in English and seemed to be unsure of what to do. I paid my deposit and yet they forgot to return it to me, I had to ask for it.

Good locationPosted Jun 28, 2014
Pros: Location, friendly staff
Cons: Change carpets, wallpaper, curtain, old lamps, A/C system
This hotel is very near to the shopping mall Plaza Merdeka and also waterfront. Very convenient to find foods in nearby shops but the condition of the rooms a bit disappointing. The curtain and bedsheets is faded and torn in some parts.. the wallpaper is also detached from the wall in some area.. no hot water at night in the shower and the carpets are starting to smell.. For the price that I pay.. i would expect something better.. Hopefully the management team will consider refurbish this hotel to make it more comfortable for patrons.

Nice hotelPosted Jun 27, 2014
Pros: Clean and quite good ambience
Cons: We stayed at 3rd floor, too close to the bar downstairs that played loud music at night.
Location: close to shopping mall and Chinatown. Also close to waterfront where there are a lot of shops selling handicrafts and food items.
Weather was hot in June. The staff was friendly and helpful, although most of them could not really speak English. The breakfast buffet could have been more varied.

3-star HotelPosted Jun 26, 2014 on Hotels.com
Check-in staffs are friendly. Walking distance from a mall, hawker center and local shops. Hotel room decor and setup are dated. Toiletries provided are limited to soap, shampoo, cotton swab, shower cap. No free Wifi anywhere in the hotel.

Great place to stayPosted Aug 17, 2013 on Hotels.com
We stayed at a lot of places in Malaysia and this was one of the nicest. It is near China town, the market and the waterfront as well as a modern mall. They kept our luggage for us after checkout, helped us pack our latest purchases and even gave us water to take medications...after checkout!! The breakfast is wonderful! There is a size difference in the superior and the standard room. I'd recommend superior. We had rented a car and they also provide free parking, very helpful. We would stay here again.

Great locationPosted May 21, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel is in a great location to explore Kuching close to a shopping mall and easy walking distance to the waterfront We had a double bedroom suite which was very spacious, highly recommend one if travelling with family or friends Staff were very helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean the only problem being the mould on the bathroom doors and water damaged on carpets from times when the windows had been left open. The hotel does need updating but the climate does make it difficult to keep everything free from mould. The Hotel does exude a lovely charm of colonial days, well worth a visit if staying in Kuching

The hotel is located near to a new open shopping mall Merdeka Mall. It is also walking distance to some of the interesting street such as Indian Street and Kuching waterfront. The concierge is very helpful and even with last minute request they can make arrangements to it. We booked standard room which is e cheapest and the only view is the multi stores carpark. Therefore we have to upgrade the room to g the view of Padang. But deluxe room is spacious if you want a more comfortable.
