This hotel was eco conscious and the staff were friendly. The restaurant prepares nice food and beautiful fresh juices. No pool or gym. They have a book swap in the foyer. It is a bit of a walk to the to the river markets, but not too far. We made friends with some locals at the local bars around the hotel. The beer is much cheaper. The people in Kuching are all really friendly.

Very quiet while we were staying, which was great! The location is close to many cafes, restaurants, and tourist attractions. The only disappointment was that the rooftop lounge wasn't operational while we were visiting (though it was open for us to sit at if we'd wanted).

First of all, we were not under renovation; a notice had been placed to notify all guests regarding the brief installation of an important accessory, where drilling noises in the room next to you had only lasted for less than 2 minutes. We are sorry you did not see the sign, and our front desk team apologized and had the work stopped immediately and also granted your request for a complimentary late check-out for the inconvenience caused. Although we are disappointed to learn that your stay was marred by this incident with your poor rating, your feedback will allow us to improve and understand out guests better.

Incredibly helpful staff at the desk who went the extra mile to ensure we got the most out of our time in Kuching. Tasty breakfast (though bigger coffee mugs would have been great). Clean rooms. Thanks!

Not a bad hotel but the shower in my room only got Luke warm. Also I booked the orangutan sanctuary with them and if they are going to do “tours” they should inform me that the chances at this time of the year are 90% that you WILL NOT see anything. Once you get there before you buy your really cheap ticket inside the sanctuary informs you how bad the odds are but you’ve already paid 90 rings to get there and back so what’s 10 more. If I had known that I probably would not have gone to save my time and money for the Forrest where there are things you can see. Anyway, not a bad hotel, just not worth the money for me so just stayed one night and moved a couple of blocks down the road to another place much cheaper with the same amenities.

Regarding your visit to the orang utan sanctuary, our guided tour sheets state that animal presence is not guaranteed, however we believe there was no dialogue regarding this matter when you booked our transfer service only without a guide to the sanctuary. We are sorry to learn that you did not manage to see the orang utans; fruiting season does vary and there is simply no way of knowing if the animals would come to the feeding grounds at the sanctuary with any prior notice. We will advise our guests accordingly in the future. With your feedback, our maintenance team has also checked the room shower and found the hot water supply to be very hot and therefore in good order; however we shall continue to monitor this matter. We also hope you managed to enjoy our rooftop lounge and buffet breakfast during your short stay. Once again, thank you for your feedback which will definitely help us improve and serve our guests better. Kind regards, Julie

Disappointed with the room
Staffs were very friendly. My toilet is bigger than the room. The mattress was sinking and I could fee the springs. Breakfast was not exciting. I stayed there are reading the positive reviews but I was disappointed. Not suitable for a business traveller or family. Ideal for a travelling salesman, backpacker or those who wish to do a quickee. I guess those were paid reviews. Pure rubbish

Dear Dinish, thank you for taking the time to review your stay. We regret to learn that the Standard City View room was not to your expectations, which was 19sqm. We have other room types with larger space which we do not advertise online. With your request for a baby cot, we can understand how the room would seem much smaller and congested. Be assured that if you had conveyed your dissatisfaction to our staff at front desk, they would have assisted with perhaps a room change to a larger room. Our staff are friendly and always eager to help - so they wished you had approached them to give them the opportunity to check your room and assisted with all the issues you mentioned. We appreciate all feedback, because it is with feedback like yours that we are able to understand our guests better and make the necessary improvements. We are far from perfect, yet we will remain committed to providing excellent customer service at all times.

Love the fact that the hotel endorses recyling! This deserves a thumbs up!! We were booked in from 16-19 Oct and it was a good stay. Room was a good size, toilet too. Breakfast daily had many varieties even for a small buffet area and they change some of the menus daily too we weren't bored at all. It was a hearty & delicious breakfast... I personally like the Mdm Tay's Sarawak Laksa that was available for breakfast daily :) The hotel too was well located, walking distance to Kuching Waterfront, some "heartland" malls, lots of great restaurants & cafes (a must try RJ Ayam Bakar which is 2mins walk & opens till 2am!) and easily accessible to almost anywhere in KCH. It is even a mere 20mins Grab drive to the airport. All in all, staffs were really friendly & helpful and that just makes our stay feels the best for our first trip to KCH. We wld recommend this stay!

I really enjoyed my stay at The LimeTree Hotel! Serinah and Monica on reception couldn’t have been more helpful! I arrived at the hotel at 9am and Serinah very kindly let me check in early as the room was available. I really appreciated it as I’d been travelling since 3am! The breakfast was great with lots of choice! I love the lime theme of the hotel too! The owners have a lime plantation so there are lots of nice little touches and everything smells so fresh in the room. I’d definitely stay at LimeTree again!

What we liked: location, location, location, the street behind the hotel was full of resturants and people going about their daily life. Very authentic! The hotel was clean and comfortable, the staff helpful and friendly and we enjoyed the breakfast! We orginially booked 4 nights in a Deluxe Double, it was clean and perfect even though a bit cramped. We asked to view an upgraded room and the upgrade far exceeded the cost difference. We booked the remaining of our stay in an Executive Deluxe and it was fabulous! What we didn't like: We have nothing negative to report.

Very worthy of it’s price!
Hotel manager Serinah and front desk staff were very helpful from booking till checking in and when we check out! Top notch service and fantastic location of the hotel with the space the Family King suite offers, I couldn’t ask for more! To add on, the location is at the city Centre yet not as chaotic and messy as those that are situated right at the Centre! Many famous restaurants and eateries around hotel! Accessible to all shopping centers and water taxi at the Water front!

Checking in was fast. Buffet breakfast is good and sufficient. Friendly and helpful staff. Security is at it top level. CCTV at all strategic places. Location wise is within walking distance to restaurants and shops.

Central midrange hotel well suited to most
The staff were extremely helpful to all our needs and enquiries including accessing printing and scanning services for business back home. This hotel has everything you need as long as you’re comfortable with a small room and not requiring pool or bar fridge (which can hired at extra cost if required) the place is very clean and breakfast provisions generous. Walking distance to most cbd restaurants and shopping centres or waterfront. But grab is easily accessed also if the humidity is bad and you prefer to ride in air-conditioning. Good price for being relatively close to the waterfront. Hotel seems quite aged, with basic amenities. Bathroom and bedroom was nice. Staff were very helpful and laundry prices were reasonable. Breakfast was average. Many local restaurants are within walking distance.

Nice hotel with great staff
I booked my room at this hotel because of the great price and the very positive reviews. When I was shown my room I thought I’d made a mistake. It was tiny with no closet or shelves or table. There was literally no place to put my clothes. I’d have to leave them in the suitcase. When I mentioned this at the front desk they offered me a bigger room, “executive deluxe “ I think. It was fine with closet, mini fridge and plenty of room. Of course it cost more than the first room. The hotel is very nice & the staff are great, always willing to help. The rooftop bar is a very nice place for drinks in the evening. Breakfast is included-adequate, but nothing special. I stayed here 6 nights. I moved to the Hilton for my last 2 nights (same price), because I wanted to be closer to the river. The Lime Tree Hotel is about a 20 minute walk to the river.

Three Sarawakan nights
Very centrally located, within walking distance to many eateries, shops, shopping malls and the Kuching's riverside waterfront. Very friendly and helpful staffs, especially Mr. Gene and the chambermaids. Stunning daily sunrise and sunset can be observed through the hotel room windows. Good breakfast buffet spread.

Fabulous, friendly, spotless rooms
A wonderful stay at this, fabulous hotel. Small enough to be personal and friendly but big enough to have spacious, well equipped rooms. Situated within easy reach of all amenities in Kuching. I would definitely recommend.

Moderate but satisfying
Experienced 2-night stay at this hotel. It is comfortable although there was a bit of noise pollution outside since my room was on the first floor, and furthermore, it was a weekend. So understood the situation. The room and the bathroom are clean with minimal furniture. Love the lime shower gel. Connection to wifi was also excellent as compared to the other 5 star hotels. And do not forget to buy the Lime Drops (sweets) at the small shop at the lounge... superb taste. Love it.

We stopped shortly in Kuching (2 nights) mainly to see the Orangutans. The hotel staff at the Limetree went above and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable, from helping us to find the local stores/restaurants we needed to arranging all of our drivers for our visits. The breakfast buffet is diverse and convenient. The hotel is just on the edge of one of the main streets that was fun to walk down and explore.

Cultural location
Stayed here previously and was not disappointed on this visit. Hotel is in an area surrounded by many local places to eat and is a short stroll to the riverside and all it offers.
