Tokyo, which is the national capital, is located 150 miles (241 kilometers) southeast of Kurobe, while Nagoya lies 120 miles (193 kilometers) to the south.
From firmly-established, must-see spots to lesser known delights, Toyama is dotted with cultural and natural attractions. You'll find Takaoka, 25 miles (40 kilometers) to the east, and Itoigawa 25 miles (40 kilometers) to the southwest.
Approximately 45 miles (72 kilometers) to the east of Kurobe is Nagano, an important regional city home to Shiga Kogen Ski Area, Nagano Prefectural Shinano Art Museum and Nagano Olympic Stadium. Hakuba 47 Winter Sports Park, Tsugaike Ski Resort and Zenkoji are also worth a visit while you are here.
