Not What I would Expect from a Moevenpick chainPosted Nov 9, 2013
Pros: The Variety of food for the Breakfast Buffet. The Free Wifi
Cons: New Furniture, Complete Maintenance for the bathrooms
Location: 10 min drive from the famous mall, The Avenues. 25 min drive from The Scientific Center
Moevenpick is a well known chain of 5-Star Hotels(I know that cause I stayed in some others), however, Moevenpick Hotel Kuwait was not up to that standard due to the following issues I had: * The Ventilation system in the bathroom was terrible, It smelled like a sewer the whole time, I told the reception about it and they said they will let the engineer check but with no result. * The parking lot is free but there was not enough spaces, there are spots for approximatly 20 cars, there are times when I come late at night and find that there are no free spot. * The furniture were old and some drawers can hardly be opened and closed. * I was told that the breakfast buffet was from 6:30am till 11:00am. and the second morning I went there at around 10:20am to be told that the buffet will be closed in 5 minutes, which made the breakfast an unpleasant meal.

The hotel is good overall. The problem is with the location. Lots of construction around.

Convenient location but with drawbacksPosted May 7, 2013 on Hotels.com
Nice hotel but significant smell coming from the local water area of sewage (sulphur) which was overbearing at times. Hotel was well kept, service is good, rooms are nice.

My usualPosted Apr 9, 2013
Location: Perfect. Close to all my big clients and quick to the airport as well.
I've stayed in this hotel about 3 - 4 times now, and wouldn't stay anywhere else on subsequent trips to Kuwait. I've gotten to know the staff personally and they are lovely. It's like staying in a huge family home because that's how I am treated there. Hope to see you all again soon.

Great hotel Poor LocationPosted Apr 3, 2013 on Hotels.com
Great hotel and fantastic staff. Ideal location for the airport. Avenues mall and the university. But what a nightmare to get into Kuwait City. Can take anything from 20 minutes to 2 hours depending on traffic. I would stay at the hotel again if I had business in the area but other than that I would go more central

Friendly staff, old hotel and very far from centerPosted May 28, 2012
Pros: Friendly staff
Location: Very far from center and not close to any attraction site
My main issue with the hotel is that it's too far from Kuwait center. If I'd add any other comments I'd say the hotel is pretty much old and the staff are quite friendly.

Stay awayPosted Mar 23, 2012
Cons: Shower does not work
Location: Located in an industrial area by the sea port of kuwait city
Hotel should be advertised as a two star motel. Terrible quality furnishings. You have to battle trailer truck traffic to get to the hotel as it is located in an industrial area next to the main seaport. Hot water and cold water are flipped in the shower. Almost got scalded by hot water in the shower as the cold water suddenly disappeared.
