“Luxury amid poverty”

World-class hotel in a beautiful beachside setting. Alas, Durban is so crime-ridden we couldn't walk to the ocean we saw from our window. Perfect homebase for Comrades runners. Excellent services, comparable to a much larger city in a first-world country.

“Ideal location in Durban”

Strongly recommended and excellent value for those who want a five star rest during a busy holiday. Easy walk to the beach, city centre and markets. Very helpful staff and the lobby cafe is ideal for a quick meal and drinks when arriving late and tired.

“Hilton Durban South Africa”

I strongly recommend this hotel to other travelers. It is close enough to the beach and not too far from the downtown shops. (I strongly recommend that travelers be accompanied when walking downtown. However, walks to the beach are very safe.) The hotel restaurant offers excellent breakfast and a plentiful dinner buffet featuring some Indian dishes. The restaurant offers a deep discount on food one night of the week plus "bottomless draft beer", with unlimited refills for one price every night. I have also tried the lounge (bar) and the fitness center and found them to be of exceptional quality and very well maintained.

“Near Convention Center”

“A good choice in Durban”

The city is worderful. Moses Mahbida Soccer Stadium is gorgeous. People are very kind, Prices are reasonable. Hluhluwe Park (safari) is splendid.
