Wonderful B&B and great staff

Posted Aug 27, 2014
Pros: Bedroom and Bathroom were great. Can't say enough about Tina. Breakfast YUMMY.
Cons: We went during a cooler time period - so the ONLY thing I can say is that the pool could have been heated. Pretty minor though.
I booked this location based on reviews that I read and I am so happy that I did. Tina was SOOO friendly and accommodating. She helped me back into our parking space given that I wasn't used to driving on the left side of the car, had a taxi pick us up and had dinner reservations all within the first 30 mins of us getting there. The B&B was charming and the beds and bathroom were so nice. Breakfast was also very good. I would totally recommend it to anyone who was going to that area.

Small friendly B&B/hotel

Posted Aug 28, 2013
Pros: I liked the friendliness and helpfulness of the managers, the location as well as the decoration and furnishings that made it feel comfortable.
Location: 15 minute walk from the beach, 20 from shops. Guided nature walk in nature reserve nearby. Big shopping centre (but we didn't use it).
The managers of the hotel are really friendly, welcoming and helpful, and we enjoyed passing the time with them and benefitting from their expertise and knowledge of Africa, the wildlife, the local area etc. The duplex was very nicely appointed and spacious, clean and comfortable. It was a gentle and safe 15 minute walk to the beach with local shops just a short walk further on so not too difficult for us to get supplies as we didn't have a car. There was also a pool and jaccuzzi next to a comfortable lounge area in the garden which we enjoyed.

Very comfortable stay

My partner and I stayed 2 nights at Manaar House and had a great stay, the room was very comfortable and clean with a nice kitchen area and outside seating area and a great shower. The owners were very welcoming and very helpful, they showed us what was around the area, helped us find the correct airport as we nearly went to the wrong one!!! and held our bags after check out for us. The location was great close to the gateway shopping complex, which is huge, close to the lovely beach and town of Umhlanga and close driving distance to Durban. Our room had a private entrance so we were not disturbing any other guests coming or going. Would stay again for sure.
