Wonderful ambience with colonial charm.Posted Aug 12, 2014
Have been staying here for 10 years, however disappointed to report standards in restaurant, particularly breakfast, have dropped.

Classic stylePosted Oct 19, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel occupies a collection of beautifully restored historic houses right on the popular Florida Road. This gives ready access to nightlife - but also noise! Definitely stay here if you want to move in the 'right part of town'

Beautiful hotel, poorly managed.Posted Jun 17, 2013
Cons: The attitude of the general management
Location: On a noisy & busy street
Lovely rooms in a central location. The hotel itself is beautiful hotel, but the attitude of the management made for a disappointing experience.

Pleasant stayPosted Sep 2, 2012
Cons: Weird smell in the room.
Location: Everything is near the hotel. Restaurants, bars, and shopping stations.
It is a nice hotel that has its own character and located in the most popular street in Durban.

A good place to base yourself in DurbanPosted Jan 10, 2012
Pros: Location/off-street parking/attentive and friendly staff/breakfasts.
Cons: Plumbing a bit noisy.
Location: Good Italian restaurant (Marcos) down the hill - 5 miinutes walk. 5-10 minutes easy drive to beaches, city, hillside suburbs/cafe's.
A very comfortable 2 night stay and the hotel is in a great location, with plenty of dining options nearby. Very good breakfasts in the hotel itself!

Great Hotel, Good location, Superb ServicePosted Jan 8, 2012
Pros: Service and charming layout of hotel
Cons: ants in the bathroom, but minor. Busy and loud street noise so ask for a room away from Florida street if you are a light sleeper.
Location: Busy street, but also buzzy with lots of restaurant and bar options.
The young receptionist helped me order a airport shuttle that picked me up just outside of the hotel for 80 Rand instead of the 250 to 300 rand via taxi. She was very persistent and courteous. I also was delighted after a very good breakfast to find out that it was included in my rate. I strongly recommend the Quarters Hotel. The place is first rate, charming and is at the start of a very buzzy street.

Great hotel, but a bit "out of the way"Posted Jun 7, 2011
Great hotel staff - always willing to help. Hotel is on Florida road, walking distance from some very good restaurants. But outside of Florida road, neighborhood is not safe to walk, so you are confined to the immediate area or you take taxis everywhere you wish to go. Hotel does not have heating, so winter months can be cold - staff did find a space heater for me, so this helped and was most appreciated. Breakfast is very good.

Excellent, friendly and characterPosted Jun 1, 2011
Excellent service - staff couldn't do enough. Great food, clean hotel - I would definately stay there again. Hotel is on Florida Road with a number of places to eat out in the evenings. It is a short cab ride from the beach, exhibition centre etc at a cost of around 35rand each way. Taxi from the airport is 300 rand I would recommend this hotel - great accomodation at a great price.

Beautiful friendly hotelPosted Mar 28, 2009
This is a beautiful, friendly, cosy little hotel situated at the end of a popular road with good restaurants & bars in central Durban. The rooms are beautiful, with modern decor and food at the hotel restaurant is excellent. Can't fault this place - except for a few hitches with the internet (you have to buy vouchers) - and will definitely go back for business or holiday.
