Good location (less than 10 minute drive to local shopping mall or local beach), nice hotel and very friendly staff. The only 2 downsides were the mattress on the bed and the room service menu. The room I booked was a King, the bed itself was 2 single beds pushed together with 2 single mattresses covered by 1 bed sheet and duvet, this was very uncomfortable (especially as the 2 single mattresses were of differing quality/ages). The room service, although speedy and reasonably priced was a very limited menu. Overall not a bad stay and would recommend for a few nights stay.

Dear Rich, Thank you for your feedback. For ease of convenience all our beds are twin beds used to make up a king size bed; this is usually covered by a Hollywood style mattress cover that ensure one does not feel the uncomfortable split in the bed. I will investigate further with my housekeeping team. Unfortunately due to the extensive in house dining menu we offer, we have had to limit our room service menu; as the though process is to promote our guests to make use of our in room dining facilities. Nice, modern hotel

Stayed one night only. Hotel fit all needs and is quite good - rooms are not huge but are comfortable and clean. Good shower. Roof-top pool was a letdown - small area, no cushions on seats and no bar service.

They have had to be taken away due to us replacing the upholstery. In addition the roof top bar is serviced from 12 midday until 10pm during the holiday season and when not in service; the bar is serviced from our Cosmopolitan restaurant. Nice hotel, clean rooms. The toilet was situated in a way that my legs touched the door when closed. Hotel garage might not have enough spaces when hotel is fully booked. We left our bags at reception as we couldn't check in early and were told we would find them in our rooms when we return later. However, when arriving at 6pm, our luggage was still behind the counter for everyone to see..

Pros: The entire staff was very professional and accommodating, the food was excellent and reasonably priced.
This hotel is just a 10 minute walk to Gateway Theatre of Shops and a 10 minute drive to the beach and the area surrounding the hotel is safe for tourists. Hotel staff is excellent and very accommodating. The hotel has a nice size gym and both a sauna and steam room for guest use. The pool is really small, more for cooling off than swimming. Meals were excellent and very reasonably priced. You can control the A/C in the room but there is no heat. This hotel is great for the explorer or the business person, as it is a nice place to come home to after a long day; but not a great place for those that like to hang out in their room since there is limited TV channels available and the satellite often freezes up when the winds blow hard or there is a storm. The Wi-Fi is decent, but the free service only covers 100MB a day, otherwise you have to pay for additional data. They have a desktop computer next to the front desk, but no printer. There is a small group of shops and an Italian restaurant located right across the courtyard, but nothing else around the hotel, since it is located in a business district unless you want to go to Gateway. They have a free shuttle that caters to all three "Three Cities" properties in the area, that will transport guests within a 5km area around the hotel, which will take you to most of the attractions in Umhlanga and La Lucia. Overall, a very good hotel by western standards.

Upscale Hospitality with Style

Pros: The location is fantastic, the staff is helpful, it is decorated beautifully, and it is kept very clean!
Cons: There is a lot of staff interaction, and that gets very disruptive. One day I had six knocks at the door for various reasons.
Location: Within a short drive of the hotel are beaches, surfing, fishing, fine dining, a huge mall, boating, hiking,and horseback riding.
We arrived late for our check-in at the hotel, but luckily we had adjacent rooms held for us even though the hotel was at capacity. There was an issue with the Expedia reservation pre-payment, as the hotel had been having some internet issues, but it was quickly sorted when the manager asked me to just check my credit card statement and let them know that the charge had gone through. The hotel itself is decorated wonderfully. It is upscale and modern, with little touches here and there that make it very unique. Even though it's not really a family hotel my children were quite welcomed and treated very well. The hotel gym is small, but well equipped, and the rooftop pool is absolutely lovely and a wonderful place to lounge around in the evenings, even if you aren't swimming. Each night a personalized weather report and chocolates are given to each room. It's a sweet detail, one I really like when I'm out at dinner. However, when the staff knock on the door to deliver them while we're in the room I'm usually trying to figure out how to throw on clothes and answer - I'm not sure what the answer to this is, because it's simultaneously a wonderful touch and overly intrusive.

The hotel was overall nice for the cost. Unfortunately it was difficult to use the gym because there were children playing in there being "supervised" by an older child and the staff allowed them to stay. The spa was subpar other than the massage but staff very friendly. The room was large and the bed comfortable. The food was very delicious and I would definitely eat there again.
