“Hotel Dormy Ekimae, Kyoto station area”

The breakfast was expensive 1,500 yen but excellent--if you like to eat a big breakfast then it is worth it. If all you want is a croissant and coffee you can do better at the station. The location was great--really only 3 minutes from the station and maybe one from the Hotel Granvia, which we were considering for its convenience. The onsen was well thought out, updated and relaxing. The room was nicer and larger than the other business class hotels we stayed in. Still no room for luggage, but that is typical. The staff were very friendly, didn't speak great English, but would speak French with us. They have free ramen from 9-11 pm that I didn't try and free coffee in the lobby in the morning. I would definitely stay here again, and would go out of my way and even pay a little more to stay in another Dormy Inn, assuming the location was good.
