Small comfortable and clean room in Central KyotoPosted Jul 23, 2014
We chose a economy double room. The room was very small but the double bed was very comfortable. In the room you have a big TV, radio, a fridge, air conditioning and sleepers. The bathroom was on the small side but very clean and it had shampoo, conditioner, body and face soap, toothbrush, a little hairbrush, razor and hair dryer. The hotel is a bit far from Kyoto station (30min walking) but you can take a bus. Once you are settle in the hotel, the location is very convenient, just 5 min walk to the Imperial Palace. We only had 2 small suitcases so the lack of space was not a problem for us. We had a really pleasant stay and we would stay here again in the future.

Fantastic hotel, great value for money.Posted Jun 8, 2014
Pros: The hotel is very close to the train station, only two blocks away from the closest exit which was good considering we had a lot of luggage.
Cons: There are smoking rooms in the hotel and the smoke smell drifted through the air-con when we turned it on. Happened in every hotel we went to though.
Location: There is a really busy street south of the hotel about 4 or 5 blocks away. We found so many shops, places to eat and even live music on one corner.
We really enjoyed our time in Kyoto and in this hotel. Very well presented hotel, lovely big lobby with friendly staff that spoke English well. The room was very clean and comfortable. Our only regret was not finding the main street earlier (Near Daimaru department store). It is south of the hotel about 4 or 5 blocks away.

Nice hotel!!!Posted Mar 19, 2014
The hotel is very near to the principle subway, and one of the most important streets, it have a lot of mini supers around and some attractions as the manga museum, is very silence and clean, inside it have some vending machine that make you the night, and a laundry room. The only thing is that the room is really small but the bathroom is ok. It's a great hotel to stay three or four days, one thing that is awesome is that you can leave your luggage in the hotel the day you check out so you can get to know a little bit more of Kyoto.

Location: Nijo castle, manga museum, Gion District
Clean hotel, the comfort is standard for Japanese hotels, WIFI in the rooms, breakfast not bad (just to get you going), 100 meters from the nearest station, awesome neighborhood, definitely better than the one i stayed in Tokyo, good recommendation.

Nice staff. Budget hotelPosted Jan 7, 2014
Over all experience was good. Room clean. Although negative side is there is no wifi inside room, have to go down to lobby to use wifi. western Breakfast buffet is good considering its price. Japanese breakfast is average. Can wash clothes on the 7th floor 200yen and dry 100yen. Near subway but a bit far from bus stations, tourist attractions are reached by bus 100, 101

Good condition, but some staff inhospitablePosted Dec 31, 2013
Pros: Cleaning staff are very polite, helpful and well organised.
Cons: Training of young reception staff to be more helpful, friendly and attentive.
Location: Manga International Museum; Nijo castle; Kyoto Imperial Park and Palace; buses nearby to Arashiyama; Karasuma Oike subway; 20-min walk to Gion.
The only negative feature of this hotel for me was that some of the young reception staff were rather inhospitable, which is surprising when compared to Japan's exceptionally high standard of hospitality. Regrettably, this is what I remember of the hotel after more than 2 weeks of staying there. Often, the lack of friendliness in people makes me never want to return to a place. This may not be important to some travelers, that is, as long as the hotel is clean and close to sightseeing facilities, but I have been a single female traveler for 15 years and the friendliness of staff is of enormous importance especially when one's gone on for days not speaking to anyone, and is also nervous about being in a strange place. This was my second time in Japan, so I am in a better position to judge the standard of hotels. I hope that I am not being too mean here because the hotel's cleaning staff were of a much higher professional standard compared with reception staff.

Great place to base yourselfPosted Dec 8, 2013 on Hotels.com
Hotel was very easy to find from the subway, and is a great location. If you don't mind walking, you can reach many locations on foot. Hotel staff were friendly, an easy to communicate with. Rooms were clean, and size wise, were perfectly adequate for what we needed them for. Breakfast buffet was the same everyday, but there were plenty of things to choose from.
