“You must stay here”
Perfect location, perfect room. Just get a package that includes breakfast.
“Great hotel at a high price”
The Hotel Granvia Kyoto is truly a great place to stay if you can afford it. Japan is expensive generally, and a five star hotel in a major tourist destination like Kyoto comes at a (high) price. I have absolutely no complaints about the hotel--the location is stellar (right atop the Kyoto train station but still very quiet rooms), the facilities are first rate, the service is excellent--and all of that costs a pretty penny. I have stayed at three or four places around Kyoto and the Granvia is the nicest by far, but also the most expensive (by far). But if you only have a day or two and don't want to waste time getting to and fro and want to stay in luxury, this is the place.
“great hotel”
excellent hotel, inside the (new) Kyoto main train station, and convenient to Kyoto attractions and downtown. You will not hear any noise from train station. Very clean, very attentive and helpful staff. Updated rooms and facilities. Many restaurants also inside train station. Bullet train from Tokyo arrives at this station, and trains to Osaka airport also use this station.
“Good hotel for single woman”
Hotel Granvia Kyoto was excellent for my needs. As a woman traveling alone, the hotel felt safe and conveniently located. I took the JR Haruka train from Kansai airport to Kyoto station, walked out the train gate and up the escalator to the hotel. After tiring days sightseeing, I didn't want to eat alone. I went to the Isetan dept store basement and got dinner and went back to my hotel room to relax and have dinner. But, when I did want to have dinner at a restaurant, there were so many choices in the station building, that I felt perfectly safe having a nice dinner out. When I ventured out by train, bus or subway, coming back "home" was easy, all roads led back to the Granvia. This may not be the most adventurous choice, but it suited my needs.
“Convienient and high quality”
Ideal for convenience right at main train and bus station. New hotel, everything in excellent condition. Concierge staff went out of their way to help. For reasonable price and convenient location hard to beat.
“Kyoto's best kept secret”
The Granvia's location can't be beat and the quality of its service and guest rooms is superb. We have been staying at this hotel for the past 12 years and have not found a better place for our annual sojourns for Kyoto.
“Great hotel but noisy”
Ask for a room not overlooking the tracks, if you don´t want to spend the night hearing trains every 15 seconds. I asked for ear plugs, but they didn´t have any. They reacted very swiftly, though, and offered a change of room (plus upgrade to suite type room). This one was fantastic; great size, nice furniture, good bathroom amenities.
“Great Location, Great Hotels and even great views!!”
This hotel creates an amazing impression right from the start, based in a tall, white tower. The first thing that blows your mind is the amazing view as you reach the lobby on the 20th floor. Quick check-in from very helpful staff up to our room, and another awesome view of the city waits, no matter where you are. Very close to the station (just 3 or 4 minutes walk), close to an enormous shopping complex, bars, restaurants, post offices, and everything else you need as well. Definitely recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking to stay in Tokyo.
“Impressive.”
Very modern hotel located in a beautiful train station. Well organized, clean and well maintained. Especially the location is recommendable. If you stay here as a tourist and don't have too much time, all buses leave from the station, you can go anywhere in the city, visit all the temples. The day starts and ends here, back to your comfortable room.
“Granvia”
Utterly superb service. They truly went above and beyond all expectations in trying to meet my travel needs.
