Overall, a very nice hotelPosted Apr 13, 2015
Pros: Very quiet, comfortable rooms with oh-so-modern toilets that do everthing one could ever want!
Cons: These are expensive rooms - Stop charging extra for little stuff like making drip coffee in room or asking for a banana on the buffet breakfast.
Location: Right across from Kyoto Station and many restaurants and shopping above and below.
We stayed 5 nights - only the first two were booked through Expedia in a standard room on the 9th floor. For the last 3 nights the hotel moved us to a superior room on the 15th floor as we were then part of a Tauck tour group.

Convenient locationPosted Apr 7, 2015
Good hotel, good sized room. Didn't get a chance to try their breakfast. We were in room 930, it was very far from the lifts, ask for a room closer to the lifts.

Dream room in KyotoPosted Apr 1, 2015
Pros: Location and Room Amenities
Cons: Nothing, (would be cool if balcony opened but I understand why emergency only.)
Location: 15 min taxi drive or bus to the Fushimi Inari Taisha (Orange Shrine place on mountain). Very close to lots of food and shopping and Aeon mall.
Was attached to the station so was easy to find and very convenient. Loved the staff, extremely helpful from the beginning till the end. Room was beautiful, comfortable soft beds, great bathtub and loved the view from our room! I recommend this hotel to EVERYONE it was so great.

Great Kyoto Location!Posted Mar 31, 2015
Pros: Location, location, location. Right in the station and easy to get to all the major sights.
Cons: The smoking situation. Rooms on floors where smoking is allowed smell like smoke. Why are there smoking rooms anyway?!
This will be my new go-to Kyoto hotel. Fabulous location, and you never need to leave the train station to check in. Drop your bags at the desk while you wait for your room to be ready at 3. Room was clean, comfortable and large for Japan. Staff was very helpful. Asked for a king room and was given twin beds, which is common in Japan as well. Only negative was my request for non smoking rooms. One was non smoking on non smoking floor and the other was on a smoking floor and did smell like smoke. They were willing to move me, I just didn't have the time to move as I was meeting others for some sightseeing. I was promised they would deodorize but when I came back late that night it still smelled like smoke. I will definitely make sure of the no smoking room situation next time. The smoking floor just reeked of cigarettes so the smell enters your room no matter what. It was pretty bad. Room was quiet even though near the tracks. Noise was not an issue. Tried to go to the teppan restaurant and they were fully booked on a weekday so make reservation early. Concierge did set us up with a reservation at another in a nearby hotel. One free bottle of water and lots of room amenities as well as a fully stocked mini bar. You have to pay for morning coffee. Shower water pressure was crazy - kind of like being power washed. The hotel is very nice and I will definitely return and recommend it to others. You can't beat the location.

Great hotel at Kyoto StationPosted Mar 25, 2015
Pros: The large room, and the complimentary 1-litre bottle of water. I also liked my room view :)
Location: Great location if you're using the JR trains/shinkansen frequently, but not so good if you want proximity to Shijo Kawaramachi and Gion.
Check-in and check-out processes were smooth (probably helped that I had already paid for my room via Expedia). The staff were friendly, and the room was a very spacious one for a Japanese hotel. My room faced the train station so I could watch the trains going in and out; that was quite fun. I could faintly hear the train station announcements, but it wasn't particularly noisy so it didn't bother me at all. This hotel is particularly good if you intend to use the trains frequently (e.g. day trips to Nara, Osaka, etc.) but may not be quite as good if you really want to walk around the main tourist and shopping areas in Gion and Shijo Kawaramachi as you would probably need to take a taxi or a bus there (and it's approximately 15-20 minutes from Kyoto Station to Shijo Kawaramachi by taxi). You *could* walk there but it would take some time and wouldn't be fun to walk back if you're carrying all your new purchases with you.

Super Central & EasyPosted Mar 21, 2015
Location: Kyoto Tower
Can't beat the location if you are out and about. The Shinkansen to/from Tokyo is right out the door, as is the Haruka Express to KIX Airport. Also plenty of buses and a train line. A very big hotel so nothing seems very personal, but typical Japanese formality and service. Breakfast was okay, only had it one day. Rooms were a good size, big bed, deep but short tub.

好立地かつ丁寧な対応のホテルPosted Mar 18, 2015

Friendly staff willing to address concernsPosted Mar 12, 2015
Pros: Very convenient access to Kansai airport by train and terrific local train, subway and bus access to all of Kyoto.
Location: Convenient location for shopping, dining and sightseeing
We were very pleased with the complimentary room upgrade. For first night we were on the train station side of the hotel and the train announcements disturbed my wife's sleep. When we mentioned that to the front desk, they willingly moved us to the other side of the building and 2 floors higher where we had a great view of the city. Overall we were very pleased with our stay.

Excellent location, great hospitalityPosted Feb 28, 2015
Pleasant experience from the moment I arrived at the hotel. My request to have early check in was granted. Hotel staffs were courteous and helpful. Highly recommended. Location is excellent. Retail outlets, food and beverage, public transports, all are within same complex. Tourist information centre and public transport information centre are available at the same building.
