Bra lägePosted May 27, 2015

Great location and staff but small roomsPosted May 23, 2015
Perfect location, just opposite Kyoto station, so ideal for day train trips to Arashyama, Nara, Himeji castle, Hiroshima etc. Plus Kyoto station has an immense choice of restaurants for daytime snacks and evening dinners. The staff is very friendly and helpful and knowledgeable. The rooms are small (it is Japan after all) but the bathroom has all needed toiletries and space.

Clean, comfortable hotel near Kyoto StationPosted May 22, 2015
Pros: Location Price
Cons: More TV channels
Location: The hotel is right outside Kyoto station, and therefore is a convenient base to set off on day trips and different parts of Kyoto.
Hotel Hokke Club Kyoto is a clean comfortable hotel right outside Kyoto station. It is a convenient base for setting off on day trips. The rooms are clean, though a bit small, but that is the case for almost all hotels in Japan. The hotel staff are friendly and most speak English. There is even a small bathtub in the hotel that fits one person decently.

Nice hotel near train stationPosted May 19, 2015
Spent three nights. The room could have been bigger, but it worked out fine. Laundry machines on 4th floor. No surprises. I would come back again.

Ok hotel but room/bathroom too small.Posted May 19, 2015
Pros: Convenience to station, bus terminal, shops and sites.
Cons: The room comfort could be improved, particularly the beds and pillows.
The Hotel Hokke Club, Kyoto is in a fantastic location just opposite the Kyoto train station. However, we found the room cramped and the bathroom was like stepping into an ensuite cabin on a ship. You had to step up into the bathroom - very encapsulating and claustrophobic. The bed also seemed smaller than a double and was very hard. Overall the convenience of the location almost made up for the room.

Great location and great staffPosted May 18, 2015
Pros: Location and attractions visiting infomation
Cons: Room size
Location: Food, shopping, and site seeing
Location is great, which is right across the Kyoto JR train station. Lots of restaurants and department stores near by for foods and shopping. Staffs are great, and IMO too nice. Great of tourists, the hotel gives out good info with picture and transportation direction to the most popular attractions in the city.

Close to the train stationPosted May 13, 2015
Small, but acceptable. We had a window but all we could see was the wall of the building next door. Not enough machines in the coin laundry.

Good location small room hotelPosted May 13, 2015
Great hotel for location. Directly opposite the main Kyoto station. Good room for someone who is hoping to spend most of their time out looking at sites.

Clean, comfortable, tiny room, great locationPosted May 10, 2015
Pros: Location. Cleanliness. Staff. Value for money.
Cons: Size of rooms (bit difficult without knocking the place down!)
Location: Right by transport facilities, shops and restaurants.
If you just need somewhere convenient and good value to spend the nights while exploring Kyoto, the Hokke Club is perfectly adequate. But do not expect luxury, a beautiful view or breakfast. Our window barely opened, onto a ventilation shaft. The room was an awkward shape and one occupant of the double bed was up against the wall. But do not be put off if you can't find somewhere else in your budget close to the centre. Like all Japanese hotels it is spotlessly clean and the staff are unfailingly polite and helpful. The location right by the train and bus station makes it perfect for getting about, although it is a bit of a hike to the trendy market and restaurant area at Gion. But there are loads of coffee shops and restaurants close by, including the incredible station shopping mall (a sight in its own right) with dozens of excellent eating places.
