The staff was so friendly and helpful. I was grateful that they had complimentary coffee and tea, toiletries and convenient vending machines. The rooms were comfortable and larger than most rooms that I stayed at in Japan, which I appreciated.

Don’t stay
The hotel advertises as having heating and cooling for the rooms, but it’s centralised heating OR cooling. This hotel has ruined my first impression of Kyoto and has also spoiled my anniversary. There are much better hotels around the corner at better price.

Lovely simple hotel in downtown Kyoto that is situated right in the heart of a very vibrant street that leads to Pontocho with some of the quaintest restaurants in the city. And a little further down the road you meet the beautiful traditional Geisha district of Gion. The hotel itself is standard and as expected. Though the staff service is inconsistent as sometimes they would deliver my requests and sometimes would require that I pick it up myself from front desk.

We were staying for a graduation, not site seeing but it is a good location to explore Kyoto from because easy reach to trains, plus it has a car park. if your a vegetarian, the breakfast is good and you can get veggie food very nearby

For my own feeling, this is a budget hotel and I don't recommend if just the lady travel by herself because not really safe anyone can walk in the hotel room without walk by the lobby also the elevator doesn't required key to go to the floor so that the reason why not recommend and not like this hotel much. But room sizes are big. For my own feeling will be more concern is safe not size of the room.

There is absolutely nothing fancy about this hotel but it gets the fundamentals of what you need in a hotel more-or-less right. That makes it a good budget option for Kyoto. The good things: the location is good, within easy reach of the subway and a couple of attractions -- plus there is an excellent supermarket next door; the room was clean and everything in it worked; the bed was comfortable, and the shower was hot and of decent strength. The bad things: the breakfast is terrible for Westerners. The same tired cornflakes and croissants made with margarine rather than butter were not pleasant to wake up to after more than a couple of days. The breakfast coffee did not get me started, but thankfully there is a better coffee machine in amongst the lobby facilities. The view from the room was not good. In fact I could see sky, but when I checked in there was a lady at reception claiming that she could just see brick wall. Overall, a solid hotel that was just lacking in a few small areas.

A little walk from the station but not too bad. The staff spoke English and were very helpful during check in process. Very clean and lots of restaurants nearby!

Hotel is very very clean. 3-star hotel so don't expect a lot of amenities, like breakfast. But the hotel is good if you need a clean place to sleep and shower after sightseeing. Recommend!

the room was quite small and the navigation in the building was confusing. The location was good and we were able to check in late at night. There was a supermarket that opened until 12am, which was very convenient
