Excellent hotel and a great valuePosted Aug 23, 2013
Pros: We enjoyed relaxing in the large, family style Japanese style room.
Cons: Water in the public bath could have been warmer.
Location: 1 minute to subway station and many bus lines; 7 minute walk to Nijo station.
This is a fine hotel for visiting Kyoto. Our family of four stayed in one of the Japanese style rooms which could have fit six or even eight people. The room had plastic tatami mats and minimal furniture. The beds were futons placed on firm foam cushions and were very comfortable. The room had a very nice bathroom with a bath, shower, toilet and sink, however, we also made extensive use of the public bathing facilities on the first floor. These were very modern and sleek, not as posh as a resort style onsen, but very relaxing and functional. I would definitely recommend this hotel to a friend.

Wonderful experiencePosted Aug 12, 2013 on Hotels.com
Our family have a wonderful time stay in this hotel. The size of the room is much bigger than regular Japanese hotels. Restroom is compact but functional. The location is excellent - a lot of local shops, convenience stores, resturants around. If you are using the JR pass, you can use the Nijo station as a conjunction point between the hotel and the Kyoto station. Save me a lot of money!. Hotel staff are extremely friendly. the "onsen" - hot spring is a plus. I really enjoy the stay and I will definitely will stay in this hotel again if I return to Kyoto.

Nice basic hotel friendly helpful staffPosted Aug 10, 2013 on Hotels.com
Nice basic hotel with everything you need. Got the bigger room which was needed with 3 in the room so your not snug next to each other on the fouton beds. Has washing machine and dryers which get busy so allow a few hours incase you need to wait. Small bath so dont expect a bath shower is good though. Staff are friendly and helpful even printed off some online tickets we purchased. Buy your daily bus pass at reception too. Get your wifi login details there too. Overall very good though just know what to expect and if you want proper beds go somewhere else.

Great hotel for everyone! Highly recommended!Posted Aug 1, 2013
The hotel was excellent overall. At first, I was disappointed by the location, but once I entered the building, I felt much better. The woman at the front desk informed us that our room had been upgraded and she helped us figure out what to do in the area and how to get around. The staff spoke perfect English and were very friendly. The room was immaculate. I had never slept on one of the futons before, but this was a great introduction. I slept wonderfully. This hotel was superb!

Rooms are spacious, and japanese-style beds provide an fun experience. Public bath in the hotel is very clean, nice, and enjoyable. Hotel staff is courteous and speak English. Laundromat is also clean and easy to use. Several bus stops nearby. There are many convenience stores and restaurants within a two block distance.

Great experience in KyotoPosted Jul 28, 2013
Pros: People sleep closer, good for family and friends.
Cons: No wireless access in rooms, though cable connection is available.
Location: Many attractions are nearby. Also easy to see regular people (not just in tourist areas).
Staff members are kind and willing to help. Rooms are clean.

Great base for Kyoto and surrounding areaPosted Jul 27, 2013 on Hotels.com
Excellent. This is a very modern and clean hotel, actually very well located in Kyoto, not far from the centre of the action at all, and surrounded by excellent restaurants and shops nearby.
