Great Price!Posted May 19, 2014 on Hotels.com
I was very impressed with this hotel. Staff were polite and professional. Although the room is quite basic, considering the price I paid for the room I am more than satisfied. The free breakfast is a bonus and offers a number of delicious bread and drinks.

Good Location, Modern and CleanPosted May 18, 2014
Pros: Location, modern decor, free wi-fi in room.
Cons: We could not bring up the hotel's location on Google maps. The subway station has a map listing a Best Western hotel and that is how we found it.
Location: Starbucks down the street, a great pizza restaurant also nearby as well as many sushi and noodle shops.
We wanted to stay in downtown Kyoto and selected the hotel for the location and pricing. It was easy to get to many shrines from the bus stop just half a block away. Our room looked like it had just been renovated, everything was new, clean and the most comfortable bed so far on our trip. We were on the fifth floor, no view, but very quiet. There was no restaurant available on-site, but there are so many restaurants and shops in every direction it was not a problem. Just ask the staff what you want and they will be able to direct you to it. Their English was good and they were very helpful.

In the heart of KyotoPosted May 15, 2014
Terrific! Great little hotel close to everything, in the heart of Kyoto. Walking distance from shops, markets, restaurants and the river. We could not have had better. They also rent bicycles.

The hotel was outstanding. Clean, quiet, centrally located, pristine room, large bathtub perfect after a long day of walking around town.

Great location, ok hotelPosted May 8, 2014 on Hotels.com
The rooms are ok (we stayed in a triple room so it was quite big). Only BBC in english... but the location is great, at a pedestrian street, close to all the shopping and great restaurants. Staff was really nice.

It has Everything I need for short excursionPosted May 4, 2014
Pros: New hotel, clean rooms and corridors, English speaking staff
I stayed only one night and everything fulfilled my need as a leisure traveler. Room set up is spacious for two persons. I think they do not have King bed which is what I preferred, so I opted for two doubles. Comfortable bed, quiet environment is what I want. One shortfall is insufficient shelf space in bathroom. But you can use the hotel bath gel, toothbrush, etc. Location is convenient, lots of shopping, restaurants and groceries. I do not speak Japanese. I have to search train transfer and walking directions on Google Map. Luckily, I found my way to the hotel from Sanjo Keihan train station.

Near all the sights, nice hotelPosted Mar 31, 2014 on Hotels.com
This hotel is located near 3 metro stops and quite a few bus stops and you can easily access many of the top sights. There are many restaurants nearby. The rooms are very nice, clean, and comfortable. The hotel is a little difficult to find, down a small side street - it doesn't yet appear on Google maps and the hotel staff's English wasn't proficient enough to give reliable directions over the phone. Once you find it though it is a great place to stay while you explore Kyoto.
