Comfortable and spacious hotel in Kyoto
Posted Jan 17, 2013
Pros: Service
Cons: Shuttle bus to Kyoto station would be more convenient
Location: There is imperial palace nearby
We were travelling with our child and my father, so we booked two twin room. After staying in two small rooms in Osaka, we had a real pleasure to enjoy the Kyoto Brighton's spacious and comfortable rooms. Hotel is really 5 stars, with great service. Housekeeping and Room service were excellent. Food from rooms service was good. Room was clean and air con was convenient to use. The only drawback is that hotel is far from Kyoto station. There is a shuttle bus that runs to Karasuma Oike station (subway), and from there you can have a nice walk around town.

Pros: Shuttle service to nearest underground and taxi rank outside
Location: Handy for imperial palace though generally a quiet area with not much nightlife nearby
Beautiful large room by Japanese standards Walk in shower and cute bath Robes and slippers provided Happy hour in hotel bar from 530-730 saves you a lot on their drink prices.

Location: Quiet location but with the shuttle bus, made it handy for everything
Everything about the Hotel and staff were first class. The shuttle bus which took you downtown in 7mins and returned was a bonus.

Excellent Kyoto hotel
Posted Jan 8, 2013
I would recommend this hotel because the room was very well sized and comfortable; and the staff were really helpful and attentive. The concierge (whose English was exceptional) was incredibly helpful The only disadvantage for me was that I would have preferred a more central location.

Great hotel for couple

My husband and I went to Japan Kyoto on a honey moon on April. Before we got there, I was concered about the location of this hotel. However, Kyoto is not a very big city. we are soo happy that we choose this hotel. It is clean, our room is big, we are very happy with everything about this hotel. I recommend this hotel to couples. There's a free shuttle every 10 min from hotel to the main subway backforward, it makes so easy. The front desk is so helpful. They told me the closest bus stop, which is only 5 min walk from the hotel. With the Kyoto bus 1day pass ticket, we could just take the bus and easily get around. The whole trip is pleasant. We are very Happy with this hotel. Japanese hotel is so clean. Love it.

Fantastic Modern Hotel in Kyoto
Posted Jan 6, 2013
Pros: Luxurious Bathroom
Cons: Very limited restaurants around the area
Location: Somewhat far from Gion and temples.
Fantastic Hotel, very helpful staff. Very clean -completely renovated in 2010! Only negative is that it is near Imperial Palace area and not near the touristy areas of Gion, where all the restaurts and temples.Cab ride is $15 each way.

You feel like you are special!

Pros: Pretty much everything!
Cons: Location. A little bit North from the central. But they have a shuttle bus service to the major subway station every 20 min. Morning buffet are pricy.
Cleanness, room spaces, amenities and services were all excellent! Even though water pressure of their shower! I really enjoyed the stay at this hotel.

Pricey but worth it!!
Posted Jan 29, 2013
Pros: Friendly smiling staff!!
Cons: Limited and pricey food options!
Location: Central and close to key destinations in Kyoto.
We had a good stay with our kids - would've preferred some more veg options on the menu. The staff aren't very comfortable with English though they are really helpful and try their best to help. The concierge was really brilliant and her tips were really helpful in finding the best places to visit on our three day trip to Kyoto! The staff even brought small bedroom slippers and toothbrushes for the kids without asking!! The bathrooms were very Japanese and full of gadgets :-) Our room was very spacious given that we had three queen beds. The location is quite central and cab rides to most key locales are affordable. The hotel is not on the pick up or drop off for tourist buses doing city tours but not too inconvenient as the nearest pick is minimum fare on a cab (about 7 minutes). We had a great trip to Kyoto - thank you to the really friendly staff...

Fantastic service, large rooms

The Brighton spoiled us. We weren't expecting rooms in Japanese hotels to be so large. The staff was tremendously helpful and friendly. We made much use of the free, extremely punctual bus service down to a centrally located subway stop. Highly recommend.
