“Kyoto hotel”

Good quality hotel. The room was bigger than I had been led to believe is common in Japan (this was my first visit) and had all the necessary amenities. Staff were helpful and had passable English. The food in the hotel restaurants was expensive and the major drawback is that it's not really close to any other restaurants. However, taxis are plentiful and reasonably priced so it's not a major problem.

“VP Sales & Marketing”

Compared to the New Miyako Hotel across from Kyoto station, where I had stayed in the past, this hotel is much nicer at an equal price.

“Nice hotel”

The hotel was very nice inside, but not too impressed with location. It was too far from the main station areas and not close to most of the higher profile attractions. However, the staff was very courteous and the rooms were very good. Plus the price was right for a short stay.

“Good Value, Nice Stay”

Nice, clean hotel with excellent service. The structure is a little older (80s) but in very good condition. Clean and neat as expected in Japan. Close to bus lines for major sites.

“nice hotel near Kyoto station”

This hotel is fairly close to Kyoto station. It caters mostly to Japanese tourists. The people at the front desk speak English, but not very well. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and reasonably large for a hotel in Japan. The TV stations included the BBC News, unlike in the other hotels I stayed at in Japan. This hotel has several restaurants. The main disadvantage is that the neighborhood is mostly a business district, except for the nearby temple, without other places to eat. Since the restaurant food appeared to be too Japanese for my taste, I ended up taking the bus (or the very convenient hotel shuttle, which runs about 20 times/day) to the Kyoto station to eat there. I was only in Kyoto for a day and spent 2 nights at this hotel. If I were there longer, I might have chosen a hotel in a district closer to the old part of Kyoto where the major temples are located and where there are more attractions for tourists, such as walking along street full of very old wooden houses.

“Not too helpful”

The hotel and room were comfortable enough. However the staff were not helpful. I would not stay here again. The breakfast was mediocre and ridiculously expensive ($45).

“Decent Hotel”

This hotel was nice and clean. It's a little far from the main train station but a taxi is just a minimum charge to get there. I was a little disappointed that some amenities were not included such as coffee in the room & internet access in the room. Other hotels include these amenities.

“Vastly overpriced”

This was a very ordinary hotel for a very enhanced price. The room was rather small and the amenities were nothing exceptional. The only exceptional thing about it was the price.
