All good exceptPosted Jul 17, 2014
Everything was great, however, was not expecting to pay ¥2,000 to enter the pool area. That was fairly disappointing. Bed was firm but comfy, shower was amazing and spacious room so overall great experience.

Great central hotelPosted Jul 14, 2014
Location: 2 blocks to Kyoto station and all the main bus lines.
Family of four in one room was a bit cramped but overall we enjoyed our stay. We ate dinner one night at the Chinese restaurant which was pretty good. Breakfast buffet seems overpriced so we only ate their once but it was good. Once we figured out that the machine in our room was a air purifier/humidifier and not the air conditioner (switch on the wall), we were way more comfortable!

Convenient to Kyoto StationPosted Jun 8, 2014
Pros: helpful staff and proximity to Kyoto Station
Location: Kyoto Station, restaurants, shopping, temples
Nice hotel- rooms a little small by American standards, but clean and quiet. View from window not great- looked over the tracks, but we weren't in the room that much. Staff was always friendly and helpful- bent over backwards to find out information for us. Shuttle to and from the train station is nice, especially if you are arriving in Kyoto via train or bus and have luggage. The majority of the time we walked to the Kyoto Station which is maybe 1/2 mile away. From there, you can take a bus or train to practically anywhere in Kyoto. We never ate at the hotel restaurants since there are so many restaurants to choose from at the station. Laundry service a little pricey.

Great hotelPosted Jun 1, 2014
Cons: Not charging extra for the swimming pool
This is a great hotel in the perfect location, just 10 minutes walk from Kyoto station. The French restaurant on the top floor is amazing, the views of the city are breath-taking. I would recommend this hotel as a great base in when staying in Kyoto

Great hotel Close to Train stationPosted May 12, 2014
Pros: Clean and comfortable room, and friendly staff. The room was also really well sound proofed.
Location: Great location, as long as you don't want views, only 2 blocks from the main train station. Aquarium is close by and so is Kyoto Tower.
Great room, great service and decent price (but we did get a discount and no breakfast was included). The room was big for Japan clean and very comfortable. and the staff were lovely.

Great place to stayPosted May 9, 2014 on Hotels.com
Been staying in RR Kyoto many times and like it very much. Less touristy and more local place than many others, rooms of right size, reasonable prices, close (but not too close) to Kyoto station. it's clean but in Japan everything is clean so that does not matter :)

Station easily accessible with free shuttle busPosted May 7, 2014 on Hotels.com
No hassles and quiet rooms (located on 7th floor, facing main road), didn't hear any traffic noise. Free shuttle bus easy and convenient to get to main station, although the station is an easy 7 minute walk.

Pleasant stayPosted May 3, 2014 on Hotels.com
Had a pleasant stay in this hotel. The hotel is kind of old but cleanliness was good. I like the fact that they have a whole day bus shuttle going to and from Kyoto Station which is convenient even if the station is within walking distance. Hotel staff were friendly even if sometimes English is quite difficult for them and tried their best to accommodate their guests. It just gets busy at times at the lobby as there are a lot of group tours or events in the hotel. Room rates were quite reasonable as rooms were quite spacious (Asian standards). They also give discount vouchers for their breakfast buffet if one is staying in the hotel.
