All good exceptPosted Jul 17, 2014
Everything was great, however, was not expecting to pay ¥2,000 to enter the pool area. That was fairly disappointing. Bed was firm but comfy, shower was amazing and spacious room so overall great experience.

Great central hotelPosted Jul 14, 2014
Location: 2 blocks to Kyoto station and all the main bus lines.
Family of four in one room was a bit cramped but overall we enjoyed our stay. We ate dinner one night at the Chinese restaurant which was pretty good. Breakfast buffet seems overpriced so we only ate their once but it was good. Once we figured out that the machine in our room was a air purifier/humidifier and not the air conditioner (switch on the wall), we were way more comfortable!

Convenient to Kyoto StationPosted Jun 8, 2014
Pros: helpful staff and proximity to Kyoto Station
Location: Kyoto Station, restaurants, shopping, temples
Nice hotel- rooms a little small by American standards, but clean and quiet. View from window not great- looked over the tracks, but we weren't in the room that much. Staff was always friendly and helpful- bent over backwards to find out information for us. Shuttle to and from the train station is nice, especially if you are arriving in Kyoto via train or bus and have luggage. The majority of the time we walked to the Kyoto Station which is maybe 1/2 mile away. From there, you can take a bus or train to practically anywhere in Kyoto. We never ate at the hotel restaurants since there are so many restaurants to choose from at the station. Laundry service a little pricey.

Great hotelPosted Jun 1, 2014
Cons: Not charging extra for the swimming pool
This is a great hotel in the perfect location, just 10 minutes walk from Kyoto station. The French restaurant on the top floor is amazing, the views of the city are breath-taking. I would recommend this hotel as a great base in when staying in Kyoto

Great hotel Close to Train stationPosted May 12, 2014
Pros: Clean and comfortable room, and friendly staff. The room was also really well sound proofed.
Location: Great location, as long as you don't want views, only 2 blocks from the main train station. Aquarium is close by and so is Kyoto Tower.
Great room, great service and decent price (but we did get a discount and no breakfast was included). The room was big for Japan clean and very comfortable. and the staff were lovely.

Large well run 47 year old hotelPosted Apr 17, 2014
Pros: the continuous shuttle was very useful till we discovered that it was a short walk to the hotel end of the train station.
Cons: Food was pricey
Location: Japfone pocket wifi and a hand phone put everything within reach.
One snooty receptionist amidst several wonderful staff members

Good location w/shuttle service to Kyoto stationPosted Apr 1, 2014
The hotel is within a 7 mins shuttle service from Kyoto train station and the shuttle service runs from 7am to 9pm daily which is really great. Hotel room is reasonable size, beds are comfortable and clean but i only wish the staff at the reception could be more friendly and helpful.

Nice hotel but hard bed ruined my stay in JapanPosted Apr 1, 2014
Pros: In room food service was great considering I couldn't manage to leave the room with my sore back. But it was expensive.
Cons: The beds were extremely hard and there was no coin laundry service you had to go to the laundromat down the road.
Location: Kyoto train station, temples, bike hire, shopping centres
The hotel itself was really nice, friendly staff, in-room food service (expensive) and central to Kyoto only a few minutes walk from the Kyoto train station. However, I will have to admit that the rock hard bed just was not for me. It ended up putting my back out so badly that I couldn't walk the next day without pain and missed out on 3 days site seeing. My partner speaks Japanese so he was able to try and organise an extra quilt/dunna to put on top of the bed which the staff were friendly enough to organise, however it just didn't fix the problem. I was so devastated and so uncomfortable sleeping here and for this reason alone I would never stay there again. I was even considering booking another hotel just to get a good night sleep and to ease my back pain. If you are used to sleeping on hard beds than I would say this hotel is fine for you to stay at. It has all the extras that you need and other than this one problem the hotel was really great.

Comfortable roomsPosted Mar 31, 2014
While the hotel is near the RR tracks, the rooms are pretty quiet. Stayed on 10th floor so that might have helped too. The single room was more spacious than I anticipated considering the reasonable price I paid. Near Kyoto station so convenient to most sights.
