Nice place to stayPosted Aug 17, 2014 on Hotels.com
First off, don't take the Sanjo-Keihan exit if you have a lot of (or heavy) luggage. Exiting from Sanjo station will let you out with escalator. Take the exit at the corner of Kawabata Street and Sanjo Street with escalator next to 100yen shop and a little diner selling Okonomiyaki and Takoyaki. You will go past Family Mart and Daily Yamazaki along the way and I would like to point out there's no bottled water in the room so you might wanna drop by one of those convenient store to pick up some water. The hotel is just one subway station away from Gion, which is about a little over a walking distance so if you don't mind walking you could save round trip fare to and from Gion. The staffs were very nice and helpful. I don't know about other rooms but if every rooms are identical people over or near 6' (180cm) might have hard time taking shower. I'm about 5'8" (173cm) and still the ceiling was about three to four inches away from my head in the shower. The space between toilet and wall was narrow. The mattress had this rather old worn out shape (sunk in the middle). It was bearable for me but my brother wasn't getting good sleep. If a good mattress is a must, this isn't your hotel to stay for the trip to Kyoto. I wouldn't mind staying at this hotel again but as I pointed out earlier, height in shower and mattress concerns you this is not your hotel to stay.

アクセスは便利。 繁華街も歩いてすぐなので、不自由がない。 けれど既存のwifiがとにかく繋がらず、pocketwifiを貸し出してくれるがそれを使ってもほぼつながらず。 そこが残念でした。

Well-located hotel an easy walk to Gion/Nishiki markets/Manga Musuem. Staff very polite and helpful and room small but comfortable. Only issue was that although we had requested a non-smoking room there was a peculiar smell - not sure if it was cigarette smoke or something else to mask it? Please note that I have a sensitive nose and it didn't bother my husband that much so you might not have any issues.

Cosy Japanese Style RoomPosted Dec 14, 2013
Location: The hotel is located very near to Sanjokeihan metro station and is within walking distance to Gion area. Very good location.
The room was rather small but it was really nice and cosy, and with a touch of ryokan decoration. The hotel staff was excellent, extremely helpful and would definitely go back to this hotel again.
